Apologies: I mixed this up with bug 108209. The behaviour of Excel matches
LibreOffice in the case of bug 108209 now after the fix. When you have a empty
cells between the cell data in A column and cells with contents in B column,
Excel only fills the empty cells.

If there are no empty cells inbetween, Excel fills while overwriting.

Please provide a sample document to reproduce this.

I suppose that it might be that you have a manually applied bold character
formatting, which would of course stay after you apply paragraph style, and
have higher priority. In this case, clearing direct formatting for the text
prior to performing your steps would resolve the issue; this wouldn't be a bug,
but an expected behavior.

Yes, very odd indeed. As a non-coder, I do have trouble understanding why.

Maybe I should just use 4.1.6.2 for Impress alone. Can I use multiple versions

When setting a paragraph to Default Style or Text Body (Both of them are not
bold). However, after switching from Heading 1. The text body in the new
paragraph become bold though neither Default Style nor Text Body is bold.

The only way to switch back to regular font is to click Bold Checkbox manually.

There seems to be some bugs in style applying mechanism.

Dear Thomas Lendo,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118371] Image replace dont works as expected

2019-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118371

Dear Iceflower S,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126184] New: UI 5.x Curved connectors path messed up when passed to 6.x

2019-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126184

Bug ID: 126184
Summary: UI 5.x Curved connectors path messed up when passed to
6.x
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: we...@laposte.net

Context:
**
Draw document with curved connectors created in 5.x version. The connectors
paths are nicely set between the connected objects.

Upgrade of LibreOffice to 6.x version. Same document opened again.

Finding
**
The connectors paths are now totally messed up: they are doing huge detours.
If try to control their path: doesn't work.
If try to delete a connector and recreate a new one: same, the new connector's
path is following a huge arc ans is impossible to reduce.

Expected
**
- Curved connector path stay the same when upgrading from 5.x to 6.x
- Curved connector path controllable in 6.x
- Curved connector path newly created in 6.x by default make no detour between
the 2 connected objects

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126183] New: Different results of "Test Connection" if table connected to ODS File

2019-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126183

Bug ID: 126183
Summary: Different results of "Test Connection" if table
connected to ODS File
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eu...@albiker.org

Description:
Two different buttons "test connection" with different result. Th user will be
confused.

Steps to Reproduce:
I created a ODS File with a few addresses and saved it as ODS file
"Adressen.ods".
Then created a new ODB and connected it to the ODS file.

In Database - Tables - - : the content of the ODS is
shown in "table data view: OK
Right click on Tables - - Database - property - "Test Connection":
--> Error is shown
"A driver is not registered for the URL ~sdbc:calc:/home//Adressen.ods"

Right click on Tables - - Database - Data Source Properties - Database
type: Spreadsheet - Next - "Test Connection"
--> no Error:
"Connection Test: The connection was established successfully"

Actual Results:
So, why there a one time a error message and another time a success message.
It makes no sense for the user, I think.

Expected Results:
Both "test connection" should success

Reproducible: Always

Nothing actionable here.

Sorry for your lost document, but we'd need the original document and the final
changes you'd made to it to be able to tell anything.

Should note that LibreOffice does not natively work with OOXML or MS Binary
formats. Those formats must be imported via filter into the LibreOffice
application.

Then on saving our "native" supported format of ODF will give the best fidelity
to the document when reopened into LibreOffice.

As discovered using OOXML (e.g. .docx) to directly save to can have formatting
issues when reopened back into MS Office product like Word. Save first to ODF
(e.g. .odt), and then make a copy as OOXML.

But at this point nothing we can do with this report.

In any case, I’m now on 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) and here are my results:

- Time to open the file: 1m36s (compared to 3m51s on 6.2.4).
- Time to save the file: 2m18 (compared to 3m03s on 6.2.4).

And here are my observations:

- Both operations are significantly faster on 6.4.0.0 than on current 6.2.4.
- For the first time since I began testing the issue, saving the document takes
longer than opening it.
- There is still no progress bar to indicate how long the operation will take.

I should clarify that after the test yesterday I restored my LO profile (too
many settings I don't want to lose).

TestNew4.dob is as it was yesterday, created with a new profile.

Today I copied it to TestNew5.odb, added the macro and ran it, but that was
under my old profile. If I new to redo TestNew5.odb with a new profile, let me
know.

I have tested the bug with actual builds of LO 6.3 beta2 and LO 6.4 alpha0.
It is relatively new and it occurs since about one or two weeks - to young to
reproduce it with the build from 2019-01-30.
It doesn't occur in LO 6.2, recently tested with
Version: 6.2.5.2 (x64)
Build-ID: 1ec314fa52f458adc18c4f025c545a4e8b22c159
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: GL; VCL: win;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Sprache: de-DE
Calc: threaded

I have checked when it was introduced. I think it was at the step from LO 6.3
beta1 to LO 6.3 beta2:
- I cannot reproduce the behavior with
Version: 6.3.0.0.beta1 (x64)

- The bug is present in

See here for an example:
https://grammalecte.net/
Go to Multi-dictionnaires section, in the screenshot, you can check which
dictionaries to use: Classical, 1990 reform or both. This is shipped with
LibreOffice FR version.
You'll have to create a spellchecker in your language and use the sources of
Grammalecte (GPLv3) if you want to achieve the same.

I wonder if the duplicate bug 123224 is not the simpler one. It is unrelated to

happening.

So instead of having bug 123224 being a duplicate of this one, should it not be

Open the queries - the one with an alias will work, the other not

Open the attached database.
Open the query "Query_Ambiguous".
Query doesn't work, because the are two columns with the same name and the
columns should be sorted by the name. Shows only an error.

This code has been created by the query-GUI:
SELECT "Forename", "Forename" FROM "Table1" ORDER BY "Forename" ASC

Same code will work in HSQLDB-queries in the GUI.

The query will work in Firebird only when setting an alias to one of the
columns:
SELECT "Forename" "FName", "Forename" FROM "Table1" ORDER BY "FName" ASC

Could be this behaviour is a special Firebird behaviour. So it couldn't be
fixed by LO.

Please, stay calm, Stuart has only tried to help make your request
understandable and we do care only about standards and technical issue here,
the rest is out of the scope of our open source project and volunteer
community.
If you want to translate LibreOffice, here is the process:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/LibreOffice_Localization_Guide
If you want to extend or create a dictionary:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Dictionaries
Some other projects have solved this issue by creating a dictionary respecting
the 1990 reform and user chose which one he/she wants to apply to LibreOffice.

I too have tried Microsoft Office Excel online (I don't have a Windows machine
right now) and it's doing what I expected, overwriting the cells when
double-clicking the fill-handle. Did you try just typing "a", then below it
"b", and below it "c", and then clicking "a" and double-clicking the
fill-handle? It will certainly overwrite the "b" and "c" with "a"s.

Personally, I'm not a fan. Not as an objection to supporting non-Standards body
compliant localizations or archaic forms, rather over issues of implementation
and sustainability.

The history and applicability of the changes are widley known [1][2]. By
locale, claims of "majority" not using standards will quickly fade as
irrelevant. Support becomes an academic endeavor.

As to localization supporting CPLC members, their "Instituto Internacional da
Língua Portuguesa" (IILP) seems to be becoming the CPLC's standards body, and
provides localization / orthographic variations [3] appropriate in context of
the AO. Fertile ground for preparing "standards" (CPLC) compliant localization.

IMHO => WF

(of course motivated volunteers with an interest are always welcome to tackle
it).

I will shortly attach:

Test.sql is the sql for my (empty) test database

TestNew4.odb is a test odb with no macro having been run, giving the error when
the only form is open

TestNew5.odb is the same, but the macro is included and has been run, and no
error is detected when opening the only form.
