It seems to be same situation also in 6.3.1 and the other older msi(6.2.6,
6.3.0).

Non-installability hasn't been reproduced in my environment(Win10 home) too.

Add an extra "word", you'll then see the abCd cycle through the initial caps
and not end with title case. With just the two words it has notihing to do with
start of second work being a number--rather it is just the roll through
Sentence case.

it's an old regression. Can someone confirms? Should it be bisected?

Dear Aravind G,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127433] New: Use transparent "frame" for Windows preview thumbnail icons

2019-09-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127433

Bug ID: 127433
Summary: Use transparent "frame" for Windows preview thumbnail
icons
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ming.v@qq.com

Currently if the preview thumbnail icons for LO-linked files are enabled on
Windows, the thumbnail shows a (zoomed-out) page of the file, with a black
border, then a white "frame" to expand to the usual icon size, with an LO icon
added at the bottom-right corner. This looks nice with a white background
(e.g. the default setting of a Windows Explorer window), however with a dark
background (e.g. the desktop with customized wallpaper), the white "frame"
looks rather odd and out of place.

It would be nice if the "frame" is changed from white to transparent, so that
the thumbnail icon adapts well for both light and dark background.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127432] New: Cycle Caps function affects previous word when word begins with numbers.

2019-09-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127432

Bug ID: 127432
Summary: Cycle Caps function affects previous word when word
begins with numbers.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.4 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@jfdeck.net

Description:
When the selected word begins with numerals, and the Cycle Case function is
used, on the cycle that is expected to produce Title case, is it applied to the
previous word.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In a new document, type the following two strings with capitalization and
spacing exactly as shown:
abCd 123xyx

2. Position cursor between the "x" and the "y", or select the entire second
string
3. Type the Shift+F3 keyboard shortcut repeatedly.

Actual Results:
The previous word is title-cased.

Expected Results:
The case only of the selected word should be changed.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
- It seems to be important that the second string begin with numeric
characters.

- Repeated presses of Shift+F3 will change capitalization in the selected word.
However, on the cycle that should produce title caps, the previous
(all-alphabetic) word instead is set to title caps.

- This might be related to bug 49033; at least, commend #62 on that bug seems
to be about something similar.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127431] New: Writer crashes when using special paste

2019-09-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127431

Bug ID: 127431
Summary: Writer crashes when using special paste
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.4 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: johnpsakou...@gmail.com

Libre Office 6.3.0.4
Arch Linux XFCE 4.14
Intel 64bit architecture.
Nvidia GPU.

Steps to reproduce bug
1. Copy any text from any source
2. Ctrl + Shift + V to special paste in a writer document or the type area in
calc used to type values in cell. Any area that has a cursor where typing.
3. Ctrl + F to search the list
4. Type any phrase that doesn't exist
5. Press enter (no options selected)
6. Press enter
Crash.

The crash is where no value is selected on a list where values must be
selected.

Haven't tried on other applications apart from writer and calc.
Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127429] New: Deleting rows in any table makes format fall back to default (fonts, size, etc)

2019-09-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127429

Bug ID: 127429
Summary: Deleting rows in any table makes format fall back to
default (fonts, size, etc)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: diegojp...@gmail.com

Description:
If you happen to create a table (either from context menu or insert tab) and
then modify font and size, bold letters and such, then you add a row or column,
every format will be wiped out and will fall back to what was predefined..
which is ugly if not annoying. Undo won't help. I have to close and reopen the
document.

Please fix.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a table
2. Change format (font, size, whatever)
3. Add or remove a row/column
4. Contemplate

Actual Results:
Format went fall back to what was predefined

Expected Results:
Format to stay what you have input before adding/removing row/column

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127430] New: missing documentation for ListSourceType for Combo box

2019-09-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127430

Bug ID: 127430
Summary: missing documentation for ListSourceType for Combo box
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: sdk
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gerhard.we...@t-online.de

The documentation for a combo box in

https://api.libreoffice.org/docs/idl/ref/servicecom_1_1sun_1_1star_1_1form_1_1component_1_1DatabaseComboBox.html#a2f99ac4d478a97752dfe0fac8cf8b232

regarding
com::sun::star::form::ListSourceType ListSourceType

is of little value (or even none). It says:

specifies the kind of list source.

Note: A value of com::sun::star::form::ListSourceType::VALUELIST is not valid
for a combo box. It won't be rejected when setting it, but controls will
usually ignore it and leave the list empty.

But obviously the values 1 to 5 of the named list are used when creating combo
boxes in a form: the names displayed and the integer values shown afterwards
when inspecting the combo box do coincide.

And anyway: a positive statement which values might be used is necessary.

When trying to copy text from another program and paste into writer, it is
impossible to do unless I close the document and open it again. The
information is still in the clipboard, and can be pasted into any other
program, just not writer. It is not functional to have to close the document
every other minute while I'm trying to write this thesis.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98698] Multiple blank pages are inserted / Page count increases in a document with many images

2019-09-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98698

--- Comment #7 from 1000dead <1000d...@gmail.com> ---
Created attachment 154009
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=154009=edit
Writer inserting blank pages at random in document

I have a number of odt files that I work on regularly, most of them are between
200 and 500 pages with a mix of text and embedded images. As I move around
editing text, that new text will of course fill a page and flow to the next one
moving everything along and increasing the page count by one as normal.
However, at random times a blank page would creep in somewhere below which has
no data or can be edited, its almost like a graphics glitch, a blank page
inserted at random perhaps many pages below I was originally editing perhaps
but never above. I assumed this was some bad formatting on my part causing the
issue at first, but after a year of this it looks like a bug.

Recently the issue has become much more apparent slowing down workflow greatly,
when the problem now happens and say I insert just even one single new page in
a 500 page document or image, the whole document can suddenly balloon into 600
pages with new blank pages scattered all over. Nothing seems to be corrupted
and indeed if I save the document and open it later, those blank pages are
gone. I have tried copying the contents into a fresh document, but sooner or
later the issue arises again.

I have included a sample file which has the problem (I've tried to sanitise the
data somewhat in the file for privacy)

Libreoffice version:
Version: 6.2.7.1
Build ID: 6.2.7-1

Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-GB

In fact, the saved file is correct again.

As regards the "strange behaviour": the text box isn't lost, it's only hidden
behind the shape! If you send the shape to back, you will see it again. You can
also select the shape by drawing a rectangle with the mouse which does not
cover the shape completey, and then use "bring Front" or "Forward one". This
didn't always work with the context menu, but you can use Format ->Arrange...
This seems to the behaviour described in bug #124430.

Isn't this use-case already covered by Bug 63438? i.e. clicking the main part
of the toolbar button (not the dropdown arrow), applies the last selected
color, if the currently selected text isn't highlighted (or highlighted with a
different color). But it removes highlighting, if the text is highlighted with
the same color. This still works for me in version 6.3.1.2.

The DirectTo commands were added to toolbars and the MUFFIN Notebook Bar
specifically to by-pass their export dialog(s).

.uno:ExportDirectToPDF
.uno:ExportDirectlyToEPUB

commands provided as alternatives to the

.uno:ExportToPDF
.uno:ExportToEPUB

commands which will always launch the dialog.

We already can customize the toolbars, menus, context menus, and even assign
short-cuts to any of themn (via Tools -> Customize).

Also, the DirectTo commands pick up the Export dialog's configuration as
recorded to user profile--and so are statefull allowing you to set your export
preferences, e.g. Compression Tagging, or the use of the Hybrid PDF (which
appends the ODF archive into the PDF).

Do your first export using the dialog, subsequent will pick up any changes from
defaults from your profile.

Given that, prefer to keep the button actions linked to the DirectTo commands.

IMHO => WF

open file with Lo 5.3.1.2 64 bit on Win 10, reacts as descriped.

Save file (store as) and open it again, z-order ist ok, behaviour is correct.

But you can see another strange behavior:

select one of the shapes, select form context menu (or from standard menu - no
difference): Anordnung (not shure of english expression - maybe "order"?) - in
front... shape will be ordered in front, but the related textbox will
disappear. No possibility to get it back (including content)!

this may be a more importend bug.

2019-09-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127427

Bug ID: 127427
Summary: Make it easier to clear, then re-introduce, highlight
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eyal...@technion.ac.il

A common pattern of use for the highlighting feature is the following:

Only one color of highlight is ever used, in addition to the no-highlight
"color". As one edits, one intermittently wishes to highlight some text (e.g.
for later consideration); but intermittently also to un-highlight
previously-highlighted text (e.g. when deciding it no longer requires any later
work).

The problem in this editing pattern is that one repeatedly needs to perform the
lengthy switch of highlight color: Not just pressing a button, but also
locating the appropriate color in the dialog.

It would have been easier if one could make the switch with less "cognitive
effort" or "UI engagement effort". Two alternatives I can think of:

* A "clear highlight color" button, with no drop-down dialog, in addition to
the existing one.
* Different behavior of the highlight color button, so that clicking it after
the drop-down dialog has opened cycles between the last few chosen highlight
colors.

and maybe one can conceive of other ideas.

there is v6.2.7 available on the website ("LibreOffice --> About LibreOffice"
states I have v6.2.6.2).

>From memory, "Help --> Check for Updates" has never worked for me, either on
macOS or Windows10 and either for enterprise editions or technologist
enthusiast editions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to "Help --> Check for Updates"

Actual Results:
Latest version is never suggested

Expected Results:
Latest version available on https://www.libreoffice.org should eventually be
suggested in LibreOffice app

Reproducible: Always

After searching for similar reports of missing menu bars I noticed that a lot
of such reports were fixed by changing the GTK3 theme.

In my gtk-3.0/settings.ini file the theme was set to "Raleigh." I changed the
theme to "Adwaita" and both the missing menu problem and the sluggish input
problem disappeared.

So the issue seems resolved.

But the solution brings up another question. Is the original problem, that is
the failure of input and menus with a particular theme, the fault of
LibreOffice or with GTK3?

Using a particular GUI theme should not cause problems with menu bars or with
keyboard input.

Anyway, I am glad that the original problem was so easily fixed.

By the way, there are much less UI localizations available for Windows, than
locales; and e.g. for Scottish Gaelic, using the OS language by default, would
not allow users to have LibreOffice installer shown in their language (see e.g.
bug 124791).

Bug ID: 127424

Armin's Suggestion
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lukebe...@hotmail.com

The fix for Bug 63955l introduced regressions. Armin Le Grand from bug 63955,
comment #18 said:

"Why was this fixed *in the primitive creation* ? Primitive creation should
always represent the 'truth' about the geometry. If decomposition takes too
long, the fix should be where it gets decomposed. Each decomposition
implementation at the primitive level *has* ViewInformation exactly for that
purpose (!)
Did I mention that for dashed lines when *clipping* against *something* the
dash *will move* and not be the same as when started from the line's start?

The fix also does not prevent a 18km long line be fed to rendering from other
sources, only one source is eliminated. That's why it should be fixed where it
gets visualized/discretized."

The regressions were worked around in Bug 120350 with a note suggesting to
perform clipping elsewhere:
