[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59346] FILESAVE: FILEOPEN: Certain conditional formatting is broken
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59346 --- Comment #14 from QA Administrators --- Dear mike.hall, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131523] FILEOPEN Rectangle in SVG has wrong selection rectangle
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131523 Regina Henschel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de --- Comment #3 from Regina Henschel --- I think it opens correctly. The outer svg-element has width="28" and height="4", which determines the total size. Inside you have a group element with transform="translate(0, -296)" and therein the rectangle with x="2", y="298", width="24", height="2". After applying the transformation to the rectangle, it has position x="2", y="2". Drawing it into an area given by the outer svg-element results in a white area of height 2 above the rectangle and a white area of width 2 left and right of the rectangle. So the entire svg image is larger than the pure rectangle. If you "open" an svg image, the document has exactly the size of the svg image, which is width="28" and height="4" in this case. Clicking on the image will always select the entire image and not a part of it. Only if you "Break" an svg image, it will be converted into a collection of its child elements. Then you can select the rectangle itself. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115052] Allow other keys than from US keyboard as shortcut keys
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115052 --- Comment #18 from Janvi --- Hello Heiko & UI team, this bug #115052 is mentioned in my related issues list but IMHO none of the related issues of any mentioned bugs hits identical problems than I tried to describe in bug #131316 To follow your KDE link I booted Kubuntu from USB stick and tried the keyboard customization dialog what is obviously a result of GSoC2011. The dialog looks nice but disqualifies for use inside a text editor for several reasons. Most important: It does not support key key sequences described in bug #131316. Example for key combination (like it is LO now but not all free combinations possible) cntl + shift + q is to press the 3 keys cntl - shift and q same time. Practically this is already a simple state machine for the reason, a keyboard reports key up/down codes but I consider this as a pure logical combination. Example for key sequence (as bug #131316 tries to describe) cntl + q - s what is to press the two keys cntl and q, then release both (or only one or none) and then press the key s. This requires further states for a state machine implementation. Cntl-Q enters first state, and s enters second state while the s key used without preceding cntl-q is writing a „s“ character to the text or doing something else. #131316 mentioned editors can do this. Here is a „who is who“ keyboard emulation table for some well known text editors, unfortunable incomplete with many questions marks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_text_editors#Key_bindings Most of them are programmers editors, but some are also multi purpose for office documents and programmers. Almost all of them can be considered as „legacy“ style but some are maintained up on today by its enthusiastic user communities. To understand the situation, we have to dig a into computer history. Otherwhile bug reports like: In situation xx shorcut yy is not working“ will continiue and any patches will make the patchwork more complicated. The first 2 columns of the link are IBM CUA and MacOS. Remarkably, this are NO text editors but UI frameworks while the remaining columns are editors. For the same reason, a sustainable patch should be implemented equivalent to this columns. There is no discussion about todays LO default configuration for Macintosh should be MacOS and for Microsoft IBM-CUA but the way to reach this should be different from what LO is doing now. Ideally users expect to be exactly compatible with Word behaviour. In the time before the MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) every editor for CPM and later DOS came with its own printer driver, screen driver and of coarse its own keyboard bindings. Starwriter by Marco Börries already supported mouse. Beside being an LOs ancestor it is a prig candidate for that editor category with extensive use of key sequences why I mentioned him in my bug report #131316. That time faded out with Apple, Microsoft SDK/GDI and later the MFC. Writing a text editor suddenly becomes easy. Framworks like Qt allow system independend development. Derive your application from the correct class and it will do what users expect becouse it behaves like everything else. This is a great benefit as application developers dont have to write a single line for displays or printers and things like graphical print-preview or PDF output are simply working. Same time the users dont have to learn how to print a sheet of paper for every application separate. Unfortunately, this is not a benefit for the keyboard as some power of the legacy system keyboards disappeared thereby. And worse, it is not possible to bring this back by any custom configurations. Further this is not only true for keyboard bindings but also and less known for mouse input. This bug report only covers the keyboard bindings. Any OO class concepts with pre wired keyboard functionality comes to its limits as system wide predefined shortcuts are in conflict with customized user setup wishes in some situations. An example is given for Mozilla below. With other words: A sustainable solution for LO (at least for the writer) should not use any inherited class behaviour for keyboard. A new keyboard input instance needs to go back to very basic keycode inputs. Key codes are numeric values for a physical hardware key. Unless character codes, key codes are not influenced by the system language setup nor any character what is printed on the key button nor by its modifier keys shift, cntrl, alt or other meta modifier keys. To get in touch with the key codes you can try one of the many pages like https://www.w3.org/2002/09/tests/keys.html This page also allows to try the keyboard predicament using Mozilla or any other browser what is also true for LO keyboard setup: Backspace goes to previous URL for a W10 machine, while cntl-Q is going to quit the browser tabs for a Gnome desktop. Both cases, this keys cannot be used for a user assignment. For a web browser or even

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131550] New: Notifications bloating the UI
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131550 Bug ID: 131550 Summary: Notifications bloating the UI Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.1.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: muhammet.k...@collabora.com Created attachment 158959 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=158959=edit Screenshot with multiple notifications Please see the screenshot to see how notifications bloat the interface. It was also reported that if the document was signed, there would be even more notifications. Some suggestions to resolve the issue (from the LibreOffice Design channel): 1- "we need only one row with some drop-down list if there are more than one message there" 2- "Or prioritize & defer the low-prio notifications." For example, "Get Involved and Donate have no urgency. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131549] New: Misplaced modal dialogs on macOS
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131549 Bug ID: 131549 Summary: Misplaced modal dialogs on macOS Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: thorsten.wagne...@gmail.com Description: Most of the dialogs are modal dialogs attached to the window frame on macOS now. Window decoration has been disappeared for these dialogs (see screenshot attached). This kind of dialogs have to be attached to window frame, but position is still centered to respective window. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open LO 2. Open preference dialog while Startcenter is visible Actual Results: Much too wide dialog dropdown animation causes Startcenter window to jump to the middle of dropdown animation. Dialog is displayed centered and not attached to window frame. Expected Results: Dropdown animation has correct width, Startcenter window keeps its position, and dialog is rendered attached to Startcenter window frame. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Same behaviour happens for many other dialogs, e.g. for dialogs activated from the sidebars (see screenshot attached). I am wondering, if modal dialogs attached to window frames are a desired, but unfinished implemenation, or if it is an regression. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131548] New: Jumps within a sheet document by internal hyperlinks do not work properly
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131548 Bug ID: 131548 Summary: Jumps within a sheet document by internal hyperlinks do not work properly Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: ARM OS: Android Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Android Viewer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: stefan_lange...@t-online.de Jumps within a sheet document by internal hyperlinks are executed properly only in the case the addressed cell or cell area is located in the displayed area of the same sheet or a comparable area of an other sheet. The adressed cell or cell area is marked - if need after a change to the other sheet. If the addressed cell (area) is loacated outside the displayed or an comparable area LO Viewer marks the addressed cell (area) - if need after change to the other sheet. But this cannot be seen, because LO Viewer doesn't shift the displayed area to the adressed cell (area). The behavior can be tested with the attached ods document. There are hyperlinks in both sheets in cells B1 and B2, in sheet "Tabelle1" also in column O ("wo?)" and in sheet "Tabelle2" in column S ("woher?"). A hard problem is that further jumps especially to targets in an other sheet (of the same document) often result in freeze of LO Viewer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

In this > suggestion Highlighting and Shading can be seen at the same time. Users > should be better aware of the two when both are visible at the same time. I think this is an interesting suggestion. Thanks for putting this forward, Bart. For a "normal" LibreOffice user it may not be intuitive - the challenge, however, remains how we can inform users of the challenge (change of colors when interoperability with Microsoft Office is required) and how to avoid it? (In reply to Tamás Zolnai from comment #34) > In MSO, character shading and character highlight are the same functionality ...which is very confusing, though of course nothing we have control over; rather, it has been a source of challenges for us. > I think the suggestion of adding two sections of colors can't be added in > general for all users, because "native" LO users don't care about MSO, so > they don't need to be confused about two character background color. > However, we already have some MSO compatibility option, so I can imagine a > new option which enables this UI for those who need better MSO compatibility. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131547 Bug ID: 131547 Summary: VIEWING At scroll gaps in displayed text - Render problem (?) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: stefan_lange...@t-online.de Created attachment 158955 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=158955=edit zip file with 6 screenshots to show the problem In LO 7.0 Writer builds from 2020-03-19 and later (=younger) scrolling by scroll bar or mouse wheel results in gaps in the displayed text. The behavior is the same regardless of whether OpenGL is activated or not. To show the problem I have opened the same text document with the LO builds from /daily/master/Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF/2020-03-18_03.49.36/ and from /daily/master/Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF/2020-03-19_04.02.14/ with and without OpenGL activated. I have made screenshots, contained in the attached zip file. An other text document I have opened with the LO build from 2020-03-24. The both screenshots do show as well the gaps as also the behavior described in Bug 131543. The gaps do not occur when navigation within the document is made by keybord (cursor keys, page keys etc.). The problem only concerns the output on the display. The print output and export e.g. to pdf is made correct. Because of the same "starting date" (both first seen in builds from 2020-03-19) I guess there is a relation to Bug 131543. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
