[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134893] New: LibreOffice Calc > Column containing calculated values disappears when copying and posting the 108th row (100 rows of data) to the 109th row (101 rows of data)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134893 Bug ID: 134893 Summary: LibreOffice Calc > Column containing calculated values disappears when copying and posting the 108th row (100 rows of data) to the 109th row (101 rows of data) Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: el_gallo_a...@yahoo.com Description: I want to add a new line to a sheet. I normally copy the final row and paste it to the new row that I append. Today, when I do that, an entire column of calculated numbers is annulled (ie. the numbers change from the calculated values to "-" as the value in each row). They do not return if I Ctrl-Z (undo), but stay as "-" on each row in that column. I have no option but to NOT save, and to close and reopen the sheet. I can't find any way to correctly update the sheet. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Save sheet with manually-entered values and calculation from those values entered on 100 rows of data (108 rows in sheet) 2.Copy and paste calculations of final row to the subsequent row. 3.This same bug occurs when only the calculation from the final row in the column that is affected by this bug is copied and pasted to the following row (rather than copying and pasting the entire row). Actual Results: "-" Expected Results: Calculated number Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 5.1.6.2 Build ID: 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial10 CPU Threads: 32; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: default; Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); Calc: CL I haven't tried resetting my user profile, nor checking that OpenGL is enabled, because this sheet has operated perfectly every week for two years until today. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. I also seen this problem happen for other users who make LO video tutorials in pt-br, but I cannot recall seeing this happen in videos where the UI language was set to English, I wonder if the problem could be specifically with the localization of LO for pt-br? I was a little surprised to see that apparently noone had created a bug report for this before, perhaps it could be because it's exclusive to the pt-br localization. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134887 Bug ID: 134887 Summary: Code support for a dedicated extra large (32px*32px) icons in new file Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: riz_17_...@yahoo.co.id Created attachment 163141 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=163141=edit Blurred icon in the right one Currently, large (24px*24px) and extra large (32px*32px) icons for creating a new file are using the same file so it creates blurry appearance. Please help to provide a code support so LibreOffice use separate file. Here the list of the icon that I think that being used (placed under icon-themes/*/) : res/lx03245.png res/lx03246.png res/lx03247.png res/lx03248.png res/lx03249.png res/lx03250.png res/lx03251.png The other things that the icon sometimes turn to a blank page if we change the LibreOffice's icon size e.g from Large to Small or change icon theme. Luckily this blank page use separate icon. I just question the rationale behind. Step to reproduce 1. Open a module be it Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math or Base 2. Make sure you use large icon variant (whatever the icon theme is, the most obvious is elementary) 3. See the first most left icon in the Standard Toolbar (the one with "New Ctrl+N "tooltip) Observed result - Icons looks blurry compared to other icon since it use same icon with extra large ones. So in extra large size it looks OK but in large it looks blurry. Expected result - Icons looks sharp and clean because they are using different icon files. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134232 TFKane changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #3 from TFKane --- Hi Xisco, I made a mistake. Hoping the following details allows to avoid other users to made the same mistake. To make long story short, there are two way to read and update controls contents (e.g., TextField): 1) read/update controls content immediately before the dialog is shown: Sub ShowDialog134232 BasicLibraries.LoadLibrary("Tools") oDialog134232 = LoadDialog("Standard", "Dialog134232") oText = oDialog134232.getControl("MyTextBox") msgbox "updating <"+oText.Text+"> ... (will succeed)" oText.Text = "Bug 134232 ... updated text" oDialog134232.Execute() End Sub 2) read/update controls content on user interaction (e.g. button click): Sub ButtonClicked_ProperWay(Event as Object) Button = Event.Source() Context = Button.getContext() oText = Context.getControl("MyTextBox") msgbox "updating <"+oText.Text+"> ... (will succeed)" oText.Text = "it works" End Sub To make long story long, keep reading. MODULE AND DIALOG DESCRIPTION The attached module (Module134232) and form (Dialog134232) will explain both the flaw and the proper way to proceed. Dialog134232 has three controls: - MyTextBox: a textbox with preassigned text "Bug 134232" - WrongWayButton: a button labelled with the text "Update Text - Wrong Way" - ProperWayButton: a button labelled with the text "Update Text - Proper Way" Module134232 has three subs: - ShowDialog134232: to show dialog and allow user to interact with it - ButtonClicked_WrongWay: called on the WrongWayButton button click - ButtonClicked_ProperWay(Event as Object): called on the ProperWayButton button click All subs pops up a message with the current text and the message that the text is going to be changed STEP BY STEP USAGE Load module and dialog in LibreOffice Calc. Then, choose Tools -> Macros -> Run Macro "Macro Selector" dialog will be shown. Select MyMacros -> Standard -> Module134232 in the "Library" tree on the left side, then choose ShowDialog134232 in the "Macro Name" list on the right side. Click Run. A message box with the text "updating (will succeed)" will be shown. Click "OK". The message box disappears and the Dialog134232 become visible. The text in the MyTextBox text field "Bug 134232" has actually been replaced with "Bug 134232 ... updated text". Click the "Update Text - Wrong Way" button. A message box with the text "updating (will fail)" will be shown. Click "Ok". The message box disappear and the text field remains unchanged. Click the "Update Text - Proper Way" button. A message box with the text "updating (will succeed)" will be shown. Click "Ok". The message box disappear and the text field is replaced with "it works". CONCLUSIONS Essentially, my mistake - at least as far as I can understand - was the attempt to update fields on a button click in this way (ButtonClicked_WrongWay is assigned to button "Execute action" event): Sub ButtonClicked_WrongWay BasicLibraries.LoadLibrary("Tools") oDialog134232 = LoadDialog("Standard", "Dialog134232") oText = oDialog134232.getControl("MyTextBox") msgbox "updating <"+oText.Text+"> ... (will fail)" oText.Text = "this won't be displayed" End Sub The Sub body actually create a new Dialog instance and interact with it, leaving unchanged the displayed one. The right way to do this, is: Sub ButtonClicked_ProperWay(Event as Object) Button = Event.Source() Context = Button.getContext() oText = Context.getControl("MyTextBox") msgbox "updating <"+oText.Text+"> ... (will succeed)" oText.Text = "it works" End Sub However, I was unable to find any documentation that illustrated the above. Indeed, I had to guess the the "Event as Object" parameter existance. IMO, the LibreOffice Basic documentation should be integrated with a more accurate API documentation and possibly many examples. At least, in my experience. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134886] New: Switching between portrait and landscape format not reliable in LO Writer (main bug) and unable to create a Table Style in the stylesheet (side finding)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134886 Bug ID: 134886 Summary: Switching between portrait and landscape format not reliable in LO Writer (main bug) and unable to create a Table Style in the stylesheet (side finding) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: adalbert.hans...@gmx.de Description: Switching between portrait and landscape format is not reliable in LO Writer (main bug) and unable to create a Table Style in the stylesheet (side finding) Probably the problem also exists in earlier versions of LO Writer. These four bugs appeared when I tried to format an annual report. There one usually has parts, which fit well only on a sheet in landscape format, such as the balance sheet, the income statement and the statement of changes in assets. But most of the attachments of the annual report can be displayed very well in portrait format, because then you can read the text much better than if you print it single-column or even double column in landscape format. However, they often extend beyond the right margin of the defined paper format. Appendices to the financial statements also often contain tables (e.g. in the case of provisions for pensions and similar obligations, in the remaining terms of liabilities and in the list of holdings). Most of these tables can also be displayed well in portrait format. However, if the original report is broader than what fits on a page in portrait orientation, parts of those table extend past the right end of the page and they can not be seen completely (which I consider to be a bug). I tried to define a table format with 17 cm width, not allowing rows to split across page breaks (the second of the two checkboxes unset) and Vertical alignment “top”. However, I could not create a new table style in the Styles menu under Table Styles. No Table style exists and if I right-click on the styles-list for Table Styles, all five offered choices are greyed out. This is another bug. After formatting the appearance of a table to these specifications, I could create such a style by using New style from selection. I named it 17cm. However, when I apply this style to other tables extending past the right margin of the page, the table still does not shrink to 17 cm. This is just another bug. Now the main bug which to be reported: If the page format for the whole document is set to portrait, you can switch to landscape format this way: Insert>Manual Breaks>Manual break... >Page Break, select Page Style as Landscape. After such a landscape section you switch back to portrait format like this Insert>Manual Breaks>Manual break... >Page Break, select Page Style as Default Page Style. But this does not work reliably. It might be that it only happens after a file is stored and read back, but it might also happen during application of portrait/landscape to different sections of a text. I might have experienced that but I was unable to reproduce it. In the attachment you find an example which had been successfully formatted with several switches of orientation and I noted every single step to create it. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to a source for financial statements e.g. https://www.unternehmensregister.de/ureg/ to locate the annual report of the Öttinger Brauerei GmbH registered at Amtsgericht Augsburg HRB 759. Select “Jahresabschluss zum Geschäftsjahr vom 01.01.2018 bis zum 31.12.2018“ (or take any other reasonablx large annual report of an at least middle sized enterprise – unfortunately I can’t provide you with the link to my example since the web server of Unternehmensregister creates another one in each session). Mark the whole report and copy it to the clipboard. 2.paste it special from the clipboard to a new LO Writer document as HTML 3.go to page 5 to the begin of line "Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung für das Geschäftsjahr 2018" and enter a manual pagebreak switching to landscape orientation. The headline and the table will be on page 6 then. 4. go to page number 7 an insert a manual page break switching back to the default at the beginning of the headline "Bestätigungsvermerk des unabhängigen Abschlussprüfers". 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the balance sheet and for the balance sheet ca page 11 and after it, ca page 14. 6. Unfortunately the three tables on pp 7-10 are broader than the paper. So one has to change the table properties to width 17 cm such that they fit. Unfortunately they extend beyond the right margin of the set page such that they are clipped (which I consider to be a bug). 7. Also set the vertical alignment to “top” and unset the checkbox allowing to split rows. 8. Since it is impossible to add a new style by

Open the file exemple-file.ods I provided. 2. Press Shift+Ctrl+O and go to Format Page 3. From the Sheet tab choose "Fit print range to width/height" 4. What I expect: even if the table doesnt fit in one page, because it is to big, if the height is to big and I set to be one page, everything should be forced to be in one page by height, so from up to down everything match. And also if the width is much larger, everything should fit. And here everything works as expacted. But if the text is smaller than the width or smaller than the heigt of the page it is not forced to FIT to it's width/height. So I ended having a table in a corner of a page. If the option is FIT, this is what it should do, even if the text is smaller than the page... Should fit by height or witdh, depending which one is first to reach margins... See the video. It's much easier to understand. Steps to Reproduce: 1. See description Actual Results: Everything fit only when width or height is bigger than one page... [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134781] Redundancy in Table of Contents and Indexes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134781 --- Comment #13 from ajlittoz --- (In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #10) > Or maybe instead moved into the existing "User-defined" type, as additional > checkbox "[x] Category (number range):" plus the Category and Display list > boxes. I've seldom used "User-Defined". Apart from "Styles" and "Index marks" options, it looks like the other possibilities are related to what we can see in the Navigator. They allow to finely select the Tables, Frames, OLE Objects. I don't know how to understand Graphics: does this map to Images and Drawing objects in the Navigator? This interrogation of mine shows it is not clear. There may be an overlap with the Object mode of "Table of Figures"/"Index of Tables". Once again, I haven't experimented but it is likely that this object mode will end up with all the named objects of the Navigator. Therefore, the "User-Defined" is likely to be preferable to "Tables …"/"Index …" for fine-grain control. As a "simple" user, I prefer several "Type" selection covering targeted purposes (table of X) rather than a catch-all User-Defined with too many checkboxes, resulting in visual clutter and possibly difficulty to understand what to check to get the desired result. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134781] Redundancy in Table of Contents and Indexes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134781 --- Comment #12 from ajlittoz --- (In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #9) > An own mode, dedicated to list the number range elements seems > a good option, at the same time simplifying the UI for the two modes in > question. > > A question whether some/all modes should provide an option to make > alphabetical lists with grouping is a separate IMO, and should not be > considered along with this one in the same issue. > > Also a question about having hyperlinks for table lists by default is a > separate, with no clear reason not to have them. Excellent conclusion, three separate issues. The second one may wait because it does not exist today and nobody will feel frustrated as they did without till now. The third one is a mystery but the workaround if to use "Table of Figures" for hyperlinks and "Index of Tables" if they are not needed. Anyway, you can also modify the Structure line (removing LS/LE in "Table …" or adding them in "Index …" because the button is present. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132737] SVG icons are installed in fixed size locolor and hicolor theme subdirectories
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132737 --- Comment #6 from Chris Mayo --- My new suggestion would be to leave the files where they are in the repository and modify sysui/desktop/share/create_tree.sh to install PNGs and SVGs separately - to allow only installing SVGs into a scalable directory. Are the SVGs in scalable/mimetypes suitable for installation?
