[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132689] Undo reverts to default formatting after PPA update
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132689 --- Comment #6 from Coburn Ingram --- I am being asked for specifics, such as font name and an example file. I am baffled by this request. I will give you specifics, but I have been using computers since 1982. When this sort of thing happens, it is not because of the font you chose! I set my default font to Gentium 12. Then, in a document, I decided to use Gentium 10 for the default text. There are a number of actions -- often they happen, and I cannot go back and identify what caused it -- where the font reverts to 12 pt. This is new behavior in the recent release. The other thing that happens is that when LO updates, it reverts my Writer Options to the defaults that shipped with the original install. It goes back to Liberation Sans 12, or whatever. I know this because when I do multiple Undo operations, say 5 CTRL-Z's in a row, the last one, the one that reverts to the saved file, causes the text to revert to the default formatting. Not my default formatting, the out-of-the-box formatting. LO should not overwrite my font preferences with an update. This is new behavior. Occasionally I will use two fonts in a document, with one being LTR (Gentium) and one RTL (Ezra SIL). But the formatting problems are always just with the English font, or with both fonts indiscriminately. I am having trouble deciding on a good example file. Maybe next time this happens I will excerpt a sample page from the book I am on and see if the error persists. Please have compassion for the fact that I am not a developer or even a power user -- though it is possible I have been using the app for longer than you have. I believe this should be easy to replicate. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136129 Ming Hua changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ming.v@qq.com --- Comment #3 from Ming Hua --- This sounds to me locale related, and maybe also the keyboard layout, just like the issue with Ctrl+; and Ctrl+Shift+; shortcuts discussed in bug 88027 (which Miguel also mentioned) and its many duplicates/see-alsos. So it would be useful if people affected by this can try an en-US locale (if their keyboard has an ordinary ` key), and see if it makes any difference. FWIW, Ctrl+` works for me on Windows: Version: 6.4.6.2 (x64) Build ID: 0ce51a4fd21bff07a5c061082cc82c5ed232f115 CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded (In reply to Felipe Viggiano from comment #0) > (there is no reference to it in the Keyboard tab from the Customize dialog). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136160] Chart displays incorrectly, but, if I double-click on it to edit, it then displays correctly (EDITING)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136160 --- Comment #2 from SRS --- I have discovered that when I save and re-open the file the bug goes away, so my original description of how to recreate the bug doesn't work. I tried to add a new description, but I can't find it. So here is the new, valid recipe for how to recreate the bug starting with the file I have attached: In the file I have attached, edit cell B285 in sheet "covidtracking.com data" to say =3. Click on that cell, then click on the lower-right corner, and drag it down the column to B377. The data as displayed in the chart should now display 300% for all dates. Next, click on cell B284, click on its lower-right corner, and drag it down to cell B377 . Look at the chart, and it will still show a horizontal line at 300% for all dates. But if you double-click on the chart to edit it, it now displays the updated correct data from the B column. It's as if the chart somehow remembers the old, obsolete data. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136129] Shortcut for Show Formula (Ctrl+`) not available in LibreOffice Calc
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136129 --- Comment #2 from Dan Lewis --- I have access to both Ubuntu 20.04 and Windows 10. I am using the latest pre-release versions of LibreOffice 7.0 on them. (Window's version dated 13 Aug 2020 and Ubuntu dated 14 Aug 2020.) In the window's version, I created a Calc file with 7.0.1.1 entering the numbers 1-10 in column A1-A10. In column B1, I entered the formula, =ATAN(A1). Then I dragged this down to B10. The B column now contained the values of the arc tangent calculated from the respective cells of the A column. Then I pressed Ctrl+`. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136160 Bug ID: 136160 Summary: Chart displays incorrectly, but, if I double-click on it to edit, it then displays correctly (EDITING) Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.3.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: stuart.solo...@ieee.org Description: If you look at the chart titled "7-day average of %positive"at the bottom right of the sheet named "Graphs" you will notice that the graph shows values approximately equal from about date 8-06 to 8-25. This is incorrect! To figure out what had gone wrong, I double-clicked on the chart to edit the ranges. Lo and behold, the chart changed and displayed the correct data! Then when I clicked somewhere else to get out of edit-mode, it went back to displaying the wrong data. This happens consistently and repeatedly. I finally fixed the problem by cutting and pasting the chart somewhere else, deleting the original chart, and moving the new version back to where the original chart was. The data for the chart is on sheet "covidtracking.com data", the third sheet. The way I got into this mess was this: 1) I mucked up the data for 08-06 (more or less) to 08-25. At that point the chart was consistent and displayed exactly what it shows now. 2) Then I corrected the data by dragging a formula down from about B300 to populate the rest of the column. 3) At this point, I noticed that the chart hadn't changed, even though the data had. 4) I double-clicked on the chart to edit it, and the chart changed to display the correct data. But as I said above, when I left edit-mode the chart somehow remembered the old, bogus data and displayed that. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Just take my error.xlsx file and double-click on the "7-day average of %positive" chart, the last one on the sheet named "graphs". 2.Then click somewhere else. Actual Results: The chart goes back and forth from displaying the correct data (when in edit-mode) and displaying the incorrect data (when not in edit-mode) Expected Results: See above; the chart went back-and-forth between displaying the wrong data and displaying the correct data. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136081] When Skia is enabled in vertical writing, changing the font scale changes the font size
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136081 Ming Hua changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #8 from Ming Hua --- (In reply to Luboš Luňák from comment #5) > What exactly am I supposed to see? I don't know how read the text, and it's > not even the same text for the 3 different sizes, so I don't know what to > compare. > Are either or both of these following screenshots correct? Alas, I thought the difference is obvious to non-CJK users. Sorry for not explaining it better. The usual Kanji/Hanzi character is a square-shaped glyph, i.e., the height and width is the same. And in the example file, when the "width" (in vertical text, it refers to the vertical dimension) is scaled, the "height" (horizontal dimension for vertical text) stays the same, and the characters are no longer square-shaped, but looks like a rectangle. So the expected behavior is: for 70% scaling, the vertical "width" is smaller than the horizontal "height", and the characters are "short and wide" rectangles; while for 140% scaling, the "width" is larger than "height", and the characters are "tall and slim" rectangles. Of course, for 100% scaling, the characters are squares. This is what's shown in attachment 164643. The actual behavior, which we consider buggy, is that characters are shown as squares in all three scalings. It is as if the scaling in vertical "width" is also applied to the horizontal "height". This is what's shown in attachment 164642. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136155] New: "Sort" Dialogue Box Too Large for Long Sort Keys
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136155 Bug ID: 136155 Summary: "Sort" Dialogue Box Too Large for Long Sort Keys Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: michael.debelle...@gmail.com Description: When the sort menu is opened, libreoffice calc will attempt to use column headers to fill "sort key" dialogue box menu options. These menu options do not permit wrapping or truncating text. Hence, if the column headers are too large, then the "sort" dialogue box will be made too large to fit the user's screen. The user is not able to resize this box, rendering sorting impossible unless the user shortens the column header. To be fair, excessively long column headers are probably bad practice. I noticed this behavior when manipulating a sheet created by a google form, which had the survey questions for column headers, and hence the column headers were rather long. So it was something that I encountered in what I would consider to be a "normal use" activity. I observed this problem on the latest stable release 6.4.6 at the time of this writing, I attempted to resolve this issue by doing a clean install of the latest version (7.0.0 at the time of this writing), and this did not resolve the bug. Hence, I do not believe that this is related to my user configuration, nor that it is specific to any version of Libreoffice. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a spreadsheet such that the "sort" option autofills the sort key with a cell entry. I don't understand how the sort option decides when to do this, but I accomplished this by creating a rectangular table of numbers with text entries on the top row. 2. Make one of the column headers be a very long single line. 3. Select the column in question, so that "sort" will use that column's header as its initial guess for the sort key. 4. Hit "sort" or select it from the "data" menu. Actual Results: Sort dialogue box has width set to the width of the column header, irrespective of user monitor size. Expected Results: Window should be capped at the monitor size, or should be resizable to allow the user to still see the entire dialogue box. Long cell entries for sort keys should wrap Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: SpreadsheetDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Linux (All) OS is 64bit: yes -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
