To be in line with icons "Restart Numbering" and "Insert > Unnumbered Entry" I propose, that first paragraph "I" becomes black I kindly agree > and the line between "I" and "II" is removed. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141035] New: FORMATTING Format->Character has no effect on some language texts (arabic hindi, but not georgian)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141035 Bug ID: 141035 Summary: FORMATTING Format->Character has no effect on some language texts (arabic hindi, but not georgian) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ges...@blackrosetech.com Created attachment 170489 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=170489=edit Screen shot of 6pt default paste in several languages showing font format problems Either using the text box tool (horizontal or vertical) or pasting text from the clip board, Arabic script text (fa, ku tested failed, ru, en-us tested no problem, 4 keyboard limit in Linux, alas) appears in a fixed character format that can't be changed (font, size, variation, etc). Copy paste is the same though, so apparently georgian works, but hindi doesn't. Set the default font to, say Western: Noto Sans, regular, 6pt English (USA) Asian: Noto Sans CJK SC, regular, 6pt, Chinese (simplified) And past the below (unformatted text) into a blank spot on a document creating a text box. cat قطة կատու pişik বিড়াল ကြောင် kočka گربه კატა חתול ngeru ネコ What the grbH? OK, now select the text box you just created and Format->Character and change the font size to 60 pt. WHUT OK, try selecting the text and changing the format - try changing just قطة. Can't do it. OK, now try in writer. Huh, perfecto. Change the font size? no problemo. Calc? no problems. Impress? لا مشكلة Only draw is having this problem. And it isn't LTR/RTL. I had: myResult - true instead of: myResult = true (the - and = keys are right next to each other on my keyboard) (myResult in the above is decalred as boolean) (the macro is within the ods) Steps to Reproduce: 1.Have macro with syntax error in, eg: function myResult (toTest as string) as boolean if ( toTest = "TEST" ) then myResult - true REM should be = else myResult = false end if end function 2. Run macro (I run it from sub called by a button in a calc sheet) 3. Watch LibreOffice crash Actual Results: Entire application crashes Expected Results: No crash, maybe a syntax error warning Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.1.1.2 / LibreOffice Community Build: dd797d330b34196606d0970aa.. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115747] Can't edit file on samba shares ( see comment 28 )
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115747 --- Comment #43 from m1027 --- (In reply to Thorsten Behrens (allotropia) from comment #35) > the question is, does setting UseDocumentOOoLockFile > to false constitute a valid workaround? -> NEEDINFO for the moment In my case yes. I'd just like to share that the root case of that issue is still obscure. We have a dozen linux clients and a dozen windows clients using libreoffice 6.4 to 7.0 on two different samba 4.12 servers: - Windows libreoffice users were never hit - Not all linux users hit; it seems that mostly vfs mounts (like with gnome) never reveal the issue; while fstab/manual mounting users are hit more often - The issue just "appeared" about 6 months ago, roughly when switching from samba 4.11 to 4.12 on one of the servers with a recent and faster hardware. - On one of the samba server's I personally can reproduce the issue but not on the other; with the exact same libreoffice linux client and the exact same smbd.conf for both servers... (server's kernels and HW differ though). If someone want me to do some more tests, expecially with the two samba servers being hit/not hit, let me know. A propose that only the most motivated user would be able to figure the workaround that files must first be Updated before the links can be broken. I do a lot of computer support and I would guess that maybe 1 in 100 people would even come close to finding this workaround. What would be better is if LibreOffice could automatically update the links behind the scenes. Alternately, LO could disable the Break Links button if links are not updated. This alternate solution is a little awkward because behavior gets weird when there are multiple selections and some links are updated and some are not. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Hello, I come back after some experimentation: I installed Ubuntu version 20.10 which contains LibreOffice version 7.0.3.1. Always the same, LibreOffice Calc is unable to properly open an Excel sheet. Whereas previous versions were able to open a spreadsheet of this size. I checked the functioning of the spreadsheet by going to the OECD site and downloading a data sheet of monthly industrial production indices from January 2000 to February 2021. And still the same: LibreOffice Calc 7.0.3.1 is unable to read the sheet and load the data. Whereas previous versions, especially version 5.1.6, did this without problems. I installed Gnumeric and it opened the sheet and loaded the data immediately. With Gnumeric I converted the spreadsheet to "ods" format, and only then LibreOffice Calc managed to read the data sheet. I wanted to check if the problem was not related to Ubuntu; I did the same test with different live distributions on a usb key, the result is the same: each time LibreOffice Calc is unable to load the data. And I did the test on two different devices; an iMac and a Macbook Pro. So that you can check it for yourself, I am sending you the last sheet that I downloaded from the OECD site. And I also send you the same sheet, but converted to "ods" format by Gnumeric. I await your feedback, but for me it is obvious that since version 6, LibreOffice Calc has a problem, it has become unable to load an Excel sheet when it exceeds a certain dimension, which remains reasonable, or 255 columns by 54 lines! I don't know how to load a second text. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download the text file "Diary. The invasion of the secret service in my life" https://drive.google.com/file/d/12cL64enQET9X1CnuCYbbAjyWHxS0g5qO/view?usp=sharing 2. Open this file in the LibreOffice text editor. 3. Run the russian spelling checker and click on the "Skip" button. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141026 Bug ID: 141026 Summary: Lock files and privacy (leaking user and computer name) Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: matheodbugzi...@gmail.com As a teacher, I create my documents on my personnal computer. I then display my document on the blackboard with a video projector. However, I some time end-up with a message telling me my file is locked from editing by XXX. With XXX being my personnel computer name and username (it also contain path to libreoffice which can also leak some informations). All student can see this message. The issue is that my username on my computer is not my real name but the nickname I use on internet. Which means student can see my private nickname and hence see what I say on internet. Two solutions would be possible : → don't show the user/computer name immediatly on the popup but put to button "Show more" to display them. → add a settings somewhere in libreoffice to anonymise data in lock file / allow to choose computer / user name in lock file (or both solution) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140829] Breaking links does not reliably work.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140829 Jean-Baptiste Faure changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #3 from Jean-Baptiste Faure --- (In reply to wpeaton4 from comment #2) > Created attachment 170350 [details] > test file to reproduce problem > > This file reproduces problem for me. There are links to 100 images on > ImageMagick website. File size is 24k. If you break links to images, file > size should be much larger than 24k when you save. But file size remains the > same, because links do no get properly broken. Thank you for the test file. It works for me if I force LibreOffice to load all the images. When all images are visible in the document, you can safely disconnect all links. To force LibreOffice to load linked images, go to menu Edit > Links to External Files > select links to images to be loaded then click Update button. This operation may take some time depending on the server from which images are downloaded, the bandwith of your Internet connection and your computer, mainly its RAM. With your test file, when all images are disconnected, if you save the document you get a 19.3 MB file. So, for me there is no bug here, and if some links are still there when you reopen the file, that prove that LO is safe enough to not remove a link for which it has had not enough time to load the linked image. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141022] New: Calc Financial Functions Should Not Require Negative Values

This tends to be very confusing because financial values such as payments, interest, periods, etc. are normally considered to be positive values and such confusion can lead to significant error. An example is now given. The exact data for a loan is as follows: Annual Rate -- 0.0329 Period Rate -- 0.0329/12 = 0.0027417 No. of Periods -- 72 Present Value -- 58238.17 Payment -- 892.43 In order to obtain these values using Calc functions, certain parameters have to be entered as the negative: =NPER(0.0027417,-892.43,58238.17) -- payment must be negative =PMT(0.0027417,72,-58238.17) -- present value must be negative =PV(0.0027417,72,-892.43) -- payment must be negative =RATE(72,-892.43,58238.17) -- payment must be negative Unless the indicated parameters are entered as the negative value significant error will occur. The underlying formulas to these Calc functions can be easily adjusted to use positive values only. Doing so would lead to less confusion and less potential error. I have not examined the many other financial functions but they may also have the same problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96377] flow in search and replace window
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96377 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Comment #5 from V Stuart Foote --- Keyboard navigation is alternative to the mouse driven GUI--and in the case of the common use Find & Replace dialog each checkbox advance (variable depending on module) control attributes of the Find action. The sequence is correct as the Find must be fully configured before the Replacement can be configured/entered. Additionally, controls must remain consistent for a11y considerations. Keyboard movement jumping backward, or haphazardly, in a dialog is disruptive. IMHO => WF was appropriate, and remains so. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141021] New: Extrusion North has wrong Origin
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141021 Bug ID: 141021 Summary: Extrusion North has wrong Origin Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de Created attachment 170476 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=170476=edit document with extruded shape Open attached document. It has a shape, which is extruded. You do not see the side planes because you look in front of it. Select the shape. The "3D-Settings" dialog should open. Look a little bit around, it is likely docked somewhere. If it is really not there, you can open it via View > Toolbars. Open the Direction floater. Click on direction "Extrusion South". Now you can see the shape as if you were a little bit above it. Now click on direction "Extrusion North". Expected: You can see the shape as if you were a little bit below it. It should look the same as "Extrusion South" but vertically mirrored. Observed: Depending on your version, you see no side plane at all or a side plane, which is too short. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141020] New: [Feature request] Add template search online
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141020 Bug ID: 141020 Summary: [Feature request] Add template search online Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: miha...@gmail.com Description: I would highly recommend to extend functionality “select template” to more easy find and install templates from web. This is important in the first impression for first users. I was teaching kids, who know M$ before, and it was quite offten on first LibreOffice run “What, here are so little templates available :(” Steps to Reproduce: Writer,Impress,Calc 1. File 2. Manage templates 3. Templates manager or in Impress on fresh install, every time Impress is opened. Actual Results: Only buildin templates If you click in that dialog "Extensions" it opens all extensions from all LibreOffice programms not only templates for example Impress. So first user thinks this is not the window for aditional templates and closes it. If in dealog "Extensions" you try to type some template on the web isn't able to find many off them. (In Impress only those taged "Presentations"(Tags[]=86) and not "Impress"(Tags[]=48) Expected Results: Build in templates & easy option to search/install online templates: Impress(Impress): https://extensions.libreoffice.org/?Tags%5B%5D=43%5B%5D=118 Impress(Presentations): https://extensions.libreoffice.org/?Tags%5B1%5D=86%5B0%5D=118 Writer: https://extensions.libreoffice.org/?Tags%5B%5D=44%5B%5D=118 Calc: https://extensions.libreoffice.org/?Tags%5B%5D=48%5B%5D=118 Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.1.0.3 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: f6099ecf3d29644b5008cc8f48f42f4a40986e4c CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: sl-SI (sl_SI); UI: en-US Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
