[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143521] Crash of LibreOffice under Wayland when changing font size

2021-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143521

(In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #4)
> Michael: I thought I had noted how to enable Wayland but I didn't :-(
> I've enabled kf5 rendering with "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5" but I just got:

If I want to try Wayland, I switch to a (Plasma) Wayland session by selecting
that for the login in the display manager (in my case: SDDM), then it's used
automatically (needs the corresponding components installed, e.g. packages
"kwin-wayland", "plasma-workspace-wayland",... on Debian).

If you want to test with X11 backend in a Wayland session, you can just set
environment variable 'QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb' in which case XWayland is used, but
it doesn't work the other way around.

For running an application on Wayland inside an X11 session, I have made these
notes some time ago, but I'm not using that because it didn't really work well
(at least back then):

The documents opens fine in 6.2 and older, the hang during fileopen started
with the following commit, bibisected using repo bibisect-linux-64-6.3. I'm
inclined to believe the change just uncovered an issue already present in
document layouting, there are somewhat similar issues, eg. bug 121720.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51935] Break Link turn cell into #Ref except first cell

2021-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51935

Dear Jaise James,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126568] Search bar MatchCase shortcut ~m does not work

2021-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126568

Dear TorrAB,

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

The problem is, that that the group is in a lockedCanvas element. I could add a
test to skip adaption of position for such shapes. That would give the same
positions as in 7.1.

But I hesitate to do so, because in all versions saving the document gives a
file, which has lost the groups. So I think, that there is a deeper problem
with lockedCanvas and a fix might be needed at a different place.

Converted Russian dictionaries from KOI8-R to UTF-8

So for UTF-8 Unicode, it should be ok.

I've submitted a patch to put LF only for ru_RU.dic, see

LibreOffice can currently exports all selected slides to SVG (as in see also

So this feature already exists

LO has no obligation to support non-standards based proprietary MS formats.
Writing filter for such formats belongs in extension.

IMHO doing more for MS PowerPoint Picture Presentation remains a clear => WF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143539] New: Calc 7.1.5 displays images that are not part of the spreadsheet: e.g. LO logo, row grayed out.

2021-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143539

Bug ID: 143539
Summary: Calc 7.1.5 displays images that are not part of the
spreadsheet: e.g. LO logo, row grayed out.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: crusader...@gmail.com

Description:
Last week, I upgraded from LibreOffice 7.1.4 to 7.1.5. I was shocked to see
the spreadsheet I need daily displaying serious errors. I took all standard
steps (uninstall, reinstall, shutdown, restart, check other spreadsheets, etc.)
to no avail. The display continues to be erroneous - and many times different
(the LO logo doesn't display each time, but the grayed/blacked out area does -
for the most part).

I uninstalled version 7.1.5 and reinstalled version 7.1.4, but that did not
change the outcome - even though version 7.1.4 ran perfectly fine before I
upgraded to version 7.1.5. In the hope of resolving the "instability" of the
newer versions, I uninstalled all of them, and installed LO 7.0.6 ("stable
version"); however, I continued to get the fancy errors.

As a desperate measure, I installed the latest Portable version of LO (7.1.4) -
and got the relief I was looking for: the same spreadsheet which was giving me
a fancy erroneous display opened "normally" with Portable version 7.1.4!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. You will need my spreadsheet to reproduce the error.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Open the spreadsheet.

Expected Results:
Erroneous dispaly.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The best way to describe the problem is to share an image of what I am seeing.
Please let me know how I can upload the image here.

In the interim, the image can be viewed at location below:

See here: https://gfycat.com/recentspiritedafricanaugurbuzzard

Please do note that I did not switch to a more colorful theme so all the focus
markings are not that attention grabbing, perhaps not much distinguishable at
all. But it's a dotted or dashed grey rectangle.

True, PDF can do a lot of work in case of presentations.

> It's not an argument against PDF (or SVG).

It is, as some schools do have strict requirements about the type of extensions
pupils should use. Submitting as pdf is not an option in this scenario. A pptx
picture presentation solves this. This is the main problem that is addressed
here.

To fix the INSUFFICIENTDATA problem, here is a precise procedure:
● Open formUpda.odt;
● in 2nd page, Format>para ‘AMPLITUDE’, uncheck option KeepWithNext;
● click OK or hit Enter; Text is not changed.
● Click after B, hit Enter: the bloc of text (5 paragraphs, including the
new empty one and ‘AMPLITUDE’) moves to the previous page —finally.

Summary|FILEOPEN DOCX Inline|FILEOPEN DOCX Word 2007
   |anchored, rotated image has |rotated image has wrong
   |wrong distance to text |distance to text

Word 2007 (=version 12) has the special feature, that for images, which are
rotated between 45deg and 135deg or between 235deg and 315deg, the effectExtent
values are based on an rectangle without swapped width and height.
Because the current code assumes swapped width and height - as usual for newer
versions and other objects - it calculates wrong wrap margins.

That results in too large top and bottom margin in the example document, which
leads to a page break, because the image has not enough space on the first
page.

The problem is not only with inline anchored images, but with other anchor
types too.

I have started work on a patch in
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/119482.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143536] New: Index (alphabetical): tab fill characters should be ommitted if index entry has no associated page numbers

2021-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143536

Bug ID: 143536
Summary: Index (alphabetical): tab fill characters should be
ommitted if index entry has no associated page numbers
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: greenandpleasant2000-supp...@yahoo.co.uk

Created attachment 173836
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=173836=edit
Screenshot of part of an alphabetical index

Version: 7.1.3.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 47f78053abe362b9384784d31a6e56f8511eb1c1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

The attached screenshot shows part of the alphabetical index of a book.

Note that "Socialism" is the Level 1 entry. In this case it has NO numbered
entries: these are not required as the latter are associated with the sublevels
instead (a fairly common occurrence in book indexes).

However, there is a problem if the user specifies a character fill (such as
full stops / periods) in the TAB area before the page number. The user only
needs the fill characters to be displayed if there are page numbers following;
if there are NO page numbers following (as in the attached example,
"Socialism") then the fill character area should be left blank.

SUGGESTION: If an alphabetical index entry has no page numbers associated with
it, any TAB fill characters should be ommitted.

Dummy Write file created, edited, saved, and closed during the optimization.

It is a dummy file. Any other file can be created, edited, saved, and closed
during the optimization process in order to reproduce the crash.

Calc file with the model for the optimization.

The NPL Solver does not keep meta information for the optimization model.
Target cell and variable cells are marked with background colors.

Only these dialogs were shown during the crash. I did a screenshot of each one.

Sure, I will upload the working documents. All the information inside them is

Hi Ominous! Thank you for the report.

Could you please provide us with one more bit of information:
- which Icon theme are you using? (Found in Tools > Options > LibreOffice >
View)
- which version of LibreOffice are you using? (Copy and paste the information
in Help > About LibreOffice)

Thank you!

This is only for GTK Linux themeing--Acrylic theme of comment 1 is just an os
theme to simulate Windows 10 dark mode.

LibreOFfice has no mechanisim to read actualy UWP os themeing for Windows
builds. Though High Contrast a11y themeing like GreyEve do have similar issues
with button and menu labeling.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 143535] New: Border Radius

2021-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143535

Bug ID: 143535
   Summary: Border Radius
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cson...@halmai.hu

I would like to define a border radius for a table border.

Now only straight, or potentially dotted-dashed lines can produce table
borders.

I would like to see my tables with a rounded border and I would like to specify
the border radius for this.

The work-arounds I can come up with, like adding a rounded ractangle shape to
the document, are not good because the shape doesn't change as the table is
growing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134532] UI: slide border should be transparently visible when larger image is covering borders

2021-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134532

i see microsoft office and apple keynote solve this by providing guide lines to
the nearest corner, could be any corner or two corners when you move the image
with the function to snap to nearest corner if put closeby. right now we have
to manually keep moving to the edge without knowing full when the image has
reached a border.

https://youtu.be/tphW6ajNjCI?t=670

an example of how apple keynote solves the image bigger than viewport. note the
ears of the cat are transparent signifying this much portion is outside. also
note the dotted lines when a corner of an image is moved, it appears to show
the line to the nearest corner/angle. the dotted lines are standard across both
keynote and powerpoint when moving an image which show the orientation to
corners/border
