https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145398 --- Comment #1 from Akshit --- The two subpoints under the 'Creating Text Documents'section are related to the formatting and/or entering of text into the document. While the 'Navigating Text Documents' section is focused on searching/finding pieces of text, moving/copying already entered lines of text, and using the Navigator. I think this is an important distinction to make (creating lines vs. navigating a document) and combining the two wouldn't make sense. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86483] FEATURE REQUEST: Implement different default templates per locale
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86483 --- Comment #21 from Mike Kaganski --- (In reply to Kevin Suo from comment #0) I suggest to specifically expand this: > For example, for Simplified Chinese users, different Headings and Body Text > styles (font size, line height, paragraph spacing, paper size etc) should be > applied in order to fit the Chinese document convention. Which changes specifically are needed? Why can't they be implemented using our existing Western/Asian/CTL approach? What requires those - some national standard? some tradition? Where is that explained? Having those specific bits could help to understand if existing tooling is adequate or not. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86483] FEATURE REQUEST: Implement different default templates per locale
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86483 --- Comment #20 from Mike Kaganski --- The proposal *seems* to have obvious-looking upsides. However, it also bears downsides. So please consider first if those perceived upsides are real, and actually outweigh the problems. Additional load on localization and packaging are the smaller ones. The real problem that I can see would be at user side, and at global community side. The default template, even though not set active by default, is still used quite often; and having it different for different locales would (1) result in users having (more) different behavior of LibreOffice, with steps working for one user in locale A not working for another using locale B; and consequently, (2) the local communities would be further isolated, having their specific workflows, tutorials, etc., instead of having some increasingly solid community including local communities as integral parts. I realize that the same may be said for everything locale-specific, and I don't think this is very special. But the proposal so far have *not* explained a specific problem it tries to resolve; thus far, it *looks* like "let's do this, because we can". So I suggest *first* to present the specific need, where current single default template makes locales less usable than it could be; and then we need to analyze if those problems could be better addressed by some programmatic changes, rather than by introducing localized default templates. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104212 --- Comment #19 from QA Administrators --- Dear Aron Budea, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101631] VBA function parameter is passed by reference by default
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101631 --- Comment #10 from Joshua Coppersmith --- As usual, Eike not only gives an explanation, but also a workaround. And kudo's for the bug...I've never seen anything quite as dynamic as constant number entries changing before my eyes! However, I think I have something to add here. In VBA Variants act a lot like reference names (i.e. wrappers). Even if you pass a Variant using the ByVal keyword that may not give expected results. However, if you pass Integers you will get pass-by-value behavior (I seem to remember, I've moved on to native LO :) ). So instead of Function stableford(score, hcp, ... use Function stableford(score As Integer, hcp As Integer, ... and to be really sure, use Function stableford(ByVal score As Integer, ByVal hcp As Integer, ... I modified the example Excel workbook only by changing the stableford signature to this "really sure" version and then could not reproduce any peculiarities, neither Err:522 nor magic changing numbers. There used to be a trick of putting caller parameters in parentheses when calling from code to code in VB, to force a calculation before the caller parameters were put on the VB stack, sort of defeating ByRef behavior in the called function. (If I remember correctly...) You can't do that directly from a spreadsheet, of course, so you have to armor-plate the function signature itself. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134293] Inconsistent double-click AutoFill behavior
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134293 --- Comment #11 from Joshua Coppersmith --- I can repro (mostly) in Calc 7.2.2.2. Here's another explanation: A blank cell will stop further expansion when using double-click auto-fill, so filling stops before that blank cell. Expected behavior would be that a HIDDEN blank cell does not count when stopping double-click expansion. However, since a hidden blank cell WILL stop double-click expansion, this makes it look like double-click expansion is "stopping short" or just not working at all. Meanwhile, drag-down auto-fill seems to work as expected; a blank hidden cell does not affect expansion. This behavior could be completely disregarded as just the nature of double-click expansion, except that when expanding multiple columns at once all columns stop short if any column has a blank hidden cell in the expansion path. So, it boils down to this "as if": Double-click auto-fill acts as if it has only one variable for stopping, which is set according to the first blank cell encountered, hidden or not, in any column being expanded at once. Should double-click auto-fill instead act as if it had an array of stopping points applied separately to each of the columns being expended at one time? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

I still can confirm this bug in LO 7.2.2. The text in the comments is not printed on Linux (Ubuntu 21.10). I feel free to set this bug to REOPENED. Although the bug appears most of the times, but it does not occur under certain conditions: I assume (not sure) that the bug always occurs if the comment was not rendered on screen. This means that if I scroll through the entire document and let all comments display on screen, LibreOffice will be able to print the comments correctly. However, if the comment was not rendered on screen before (because I did't scroll to that page), LibreOffice does not print the text of this/these comments. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 145661] New: Insertion caret (cursor) disappears during auto-save

Keyboard arrows still manipulate caret as expected, but this is awkward when no cursor appears in either location. Unfortunately, at one minute minimum per test (auto-save frequency) I cannot speak to when the caret fails to show in either location, only that it seems to have not shown at all once when the insertion point was in a reference, like '$C|9'. I'm not an LO dev but, I wonder... perhaps it's the case that Microsoft Word keeps an association of the typed characters to a keyboard layout or a language based on the keyboard layout, which sticks after you've moved on to type something else; while in LO, no such extra direction hinting information is maintained. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144194] CALC cell EDIT failure when right Justified formatting forces the exposed formula across the preceding cell
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144194 --- Comment #12 from Colin --- (In reply to Wolfgang Jäger from comment #11) > (In reply to Colin from comment #9) > > @Xisco Fauli Is there anything more I need to do to demonstrate the bug. I > > The example sheet is ok. Try, however, to give correct exülanazions (in this > case the correct range) when you are talking about your experiences. If you examine the sheet and all my comments you will understand that BOTH E4:E9 and G4:G9 are right-justified and the error occurs in both clusters. Editing within the bounds of any of these right-justified source cells does not insert the "drill-down" cell address, it only occurs when the edit point is above one of the adjacent cells. Any form of editing in the F4:F9 cluster is successful. When this report is allied with the corruption experienced within bug 145248 it becomes extremely frustrating as there is no user-centric manner of easily editing cells. The major reason for editing cells is normally to remediate discrepancies - most often caused by a lack of experience. My first language is not "spreadsheet technical" so if my definitions offend you I apologise. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

The user now tries to select a part of the formula with the mouse. Saving this 1st document under any name. 3. Open another new document and create the heading "Document2". Formatted with heading1. 4. Save this 2nd document under any name. 5. Open the 1st document; mark the word "Document2"; Insert -> Hyperlink -> Select document (2nd document) -> Select target (heading "Document2") -> O.K. 6. Export as PDF (in doing so, under the "PDF Options" on the "Links" tab, the option "Convert document links to PDF targets" was NOT checked. 7. save the PDF file. 8. open PDF file and click on link. Result: The link does not work! NO error message If you move the mouse cursor over the hyperlink in the generated PDF file you can see the following: "file:///Document1.odf#Document2%7Coutline" ( is the placeholder for my local directory path). Try 2: == Now I repeated step 5. and in step 6. under "PDF Options" on the "Links" tab I checked the option "Convert document links to PDF targets". Repeated steps 7. and 8. Result: The link does not work! The error message appears: "External link could not be opened/ Error fetching information for file >>/Document2.pdf<<: file or directory not found" ( is the placeholder for my local directory path). The link does not work, that the 2nd document was not converted to a pdf file. In the "content.xml" of the 1st document the following is stored to the hyperlink: Document2 Notes on the global document with its sub-documents: = Basically, MANY documents with their links are united into ONE document here when exporting to a PDF file or to an .odt file. Hyperlinks can be here: Case 1: (a) from the global document to one or more sub-documents, (b) from a sub-document to one or more sub-documents refer. Case 2: In addition, there may be hyperlinks here that point to external files that are not part of the global document and its sub-documents. In case 1, the hyperlinks must work within the target document when exported and thus be converted to hyperlinks to internal targets of a file.
