[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146954] New: CSV import not recognizing date (regression)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146954 Bug ID: 146954 Summary: CSV import not recognizing date (regression) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.3.0.2 rc Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: miho...@miho.im I have ods file created with older LO versions, which use (Sheet - Link to outside data...) and pull data from CSV file. It worked without issues in 7.2.5, but when I upgraded to 7.3.0.2 date isn't recognized. This is sample data: 2022-01-22T06:50:59.400Z,buy,XYZ,36.991,16,591.856,USD,-0.373905028,1.1351 2022-01-22T10:57:25.501Z,buy,ZYX,33.968,8.8,298.9184,EUR,-0.0015884,1.13275 When linking CSV for first time, first column (date/time) was marked as "Date (YMD)", while columns 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 were marked as US ENGLISH. This automatically converted first column to DATE format, and other columns to NUMBER format. As of 7.3.0.2 conversion to DATE isn't working any more (it just shows text string as it is), while conversion to NUMBER seams ok. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

What do you mean by "trouble version"? The earliest version affected according to this bug report is 6.2, which is an unmaintained branch, and the most recent version tested by Telesto in Comment 0 was 7.3, which is the one I picked to test (a currently maintained branch). I think my WFM was a justified call, but I said I'd like someone else to check and I'm happy to do more testing. I tested a number of times to have a better idea of how much time it takes before the values are updated: In 7.2.5: about 3 seconds in 7.3.0.2: about 3 seconds In 7.4 alpha0+: about 3 seconds Undoing the operation seems to take a similar time. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61175] Fileopen DOCX: 4 pages opens as 5 because Footer - Section from MSO is not the same
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61175 --- Comment #14 from QA Administrators --- Dear cincenko, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! ("screen" versus "on-screen show") It would be good to clarify why there are two variations of each. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Impress 2. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131728] FILEOPEN DOCX Support style separators
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131728 --- Comment #8 from larrybradley --- This is an ongoing issue that has been reported in at least two separate bug report and the developers have responded once with "ways to accomplish this without developing an actual style separator" (my description) and, in this bug report, "Looks like this is a bit of an obscure feature as this article says MS doesn't include any help content for it." In the case of both bug reports with which I am familiar, the users were trying to compose legal documents that have very specific formatting requirements. I have also had this requirement when I was composing Contract documents, and I can insure the developers that the suggested workarounds (they hate that word) are not acceptable to the attorneys. That is one reason why we were forced to use MS Word, because it has a built-in Style Separator. And I can assure the developers that if this is an "obscure" feature for most users, it is not a trivial or obsolete feature and it is not obscure for those whose work requires it. It it was trivial and unnecessary, MS would not have included it in Microsoft 365 Word, and they would have by now removed it from the desktop version of Word. If the devs simply don't want to be bothered with something that is critical to some small (but significant) portion of users and potential users, just say so; however, the tone of this and other discussions on this topic is one seems to me to be a bit too incredulous and dismissive on the dev side. If there is no appetite for ever addressing this issue with the one acceptable solution—to develop a built-in Style Separator that mimics the outcome of the MS Style Separator—please spare us any more effort on our part making the request, providing the rationale, and sending example file. Thanks for all that you do, and thanks for listening. LO is a great product, much better than MS Word in most respects, but not an option for those people who work with legal documents, unfortunately. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Situation: Opened a Writer document that seems to be defect as on opening Writer complains that the document contains macros but I am unable to find any macros in the document. Tried to fix this by creating a new document and to copy and paste the text content of the defect document into the new document. Pasting crashed LibreOffice. The crash reported here happened during the recovery process after this crash. Some more details: - About 20 splash screens in 12 seconds. - Resource monitor showed more than 40 soffice.bin entries in grey - Crash report was generated after I aborted the process structure of one of the soffice.exe entries. Strange effect: Opening the new document started the recovery process again which worked this time. The new document contained the text I had pasted. On opening the new document Writer reported that the document contains macros. But the only operations I did on this document (besides handling the crashes) were to create it and to paste text into it. Of course the Basic-IDE shows an empty standard library only. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
