My sincere apologies for the comment I made. That day 2 other pieces of
software went South on me after their update. Yes, I do realize that there are
many working on LibreOffice and they do a tremendous job considering the size
of the package. Again, I do apologize. Regards

My apolpgies,

The entire array is copied from the web and pasted into a work array before
copying to the final location.
You beat me by an hour - I was woken by the inspiration that my two examples
were not created identically.
I'd just figured out that the "source" array responded differently depending
upon whether it was copied or typed into place.
Unfortunately, I opened your notification after I had figured it out "in situ".

Again, My apologies for wasting your time - mine is less important

visually draw attention to in-view bookmark demo 3

Demo 3 uses an invert approach to visually draw attention to the in-view
bookmark. Less subtle than the transparent color approach shown in demo 2, but
works to bring attention to an in-view bookmark that has yellow background and
we don't need to decide what color to use.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc

GDB Core dump file:
https://mega.nz/file/d25knZQK#wZsN9YtmA1Bybk-dfzD6xK9XY8yl3iK_RXvx7ITdc9o
(Had to use a file hosting service because it's still too large to attach here,
even compressed)

System Info:

OS: Arch Linux x86-64-v3 (https://git.harting.dev/ALHP/ALHP.GO)
Kernel: Linux 6.0.8-272-tkg-pds (https://github.com/frogging-family/linux-tkg)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (16) @ 4.05GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
GPU Driver Version: 520.56.06

Additional Info:

This bug is reproducible, even from the the vanilla Arch (x86-64) repo
Given that this affects opening .xlsx files, I'd think that this is a pretty
serious issue

Letters in SBee.B3:B7, have a space after the letter. LOWER() doesn't eliminate

Do you think this open source community is waiting for your request, and
resolve it in a couple of days?

If with a clean profile works, you can leave the 'Safe mode'.

If in normal mode with a clean profile the issue persist, please test if
changing in Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View, 'Skia' option has any effect.

In Impress and Draw the hyperlink color comes from [1] which is an "Application

[1]
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/UI.xcu?r=0aa61812=17649=483#478

In Writer it comes from the "Internet Link" style, hardcoded as COL_BLUE here:

https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/source/core/doc/DocumentStylePoolManager.cxx?r=d96d1b38#1548

The main problem is that a Writer style / template is not sensitive to the UI
color scheme. So I wouldn't know how to proceed here because we cannot simply
change the template.

Thanks Stéphane Guillou

Ad.1. Eike Rathke spoke about changing the name of the function.
In the Polish translation, arguments are marked with capital letters, e.g. "K".
The suggestion of a lowercase "c" is against the accepted principle. My
proposal does not interfere with the basic nomenclature adopted by Polish IT
specialists. The uniformity of the Polish translation is more important than
the consistency of individual letters with the English version.
I agree that it would be enough to change the "K" argument to something like
"P" (Pozycja-Position), "R" (Rząd-Row), "S" (Stopień-Stage) or "M"
(Miejsce-Location).
If my arguments are convincing, I consider the author of the Polish translation
in "Help" to be the most competent to introduce corrections.
Thank you!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 151337] Can't change table row height without selecting the row

2022-12-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151337

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #1)
> You cannot set a precise value at all in Impress/Draw. And I wonder if it's
> necessary.

It's vital and critical to be able to set precise dimensions of all elements in
a drawing - that's what a drawing is often about: Precise scaled representation
of something. Now, it's true that a table is not a typical Draw element, but -
it's still in the context of a Drawing.

In impress, it is important to be set dimensions of elements in a slide,
including a table - it is an aspect of the design.

... but all of that is beside the point, because this bug is not about making a
_precise_ setting, but making _a_ setting, even an imprecise one.

> I'd expect to get a more or less precise height via spacing before/after the
> text (and a minimum height)

That something quite different. A table row may contain multiple paragraphs
with multiple lines within the paragraph; or its text may be empty, with some
non-textual objects located inside the cells somehow.

> Besides the bugs there is no urgent need to enter precise values

The need is to control the height of a row. We can control the height of a
textbox, and of a table - and in the same sense, also the height of a row.

Such control is possible in Calc and in Writer - both by dragging and via the
context menu. That should also be the case in Impress and Draw.

First of all, you can't read a text that only mentions dragging, as if it
discusses anything related to keyboard movement ;) No, the help does not
discuss keyboard at all.

And also it explicitly mentions movement of the anchor; so I can't see how
could that be read as if it guaranteed fixed anchor and changing position...

2022-12-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Help says: "You can move an anchor or, keeping other object constraints in
mind, position an object relative to the anchor's reference point by dragging
the object."[1]

I understand it in that way, that after moving up with arrow key or by
dragging, anchor (to character) is still connected with the same character,
while only position of object changes. But Anchor changes in current document
(works as expected with image on page 1)

@Xisco Not clear simple reversion of that one commit is the best thing here.

There were a lot of *additional* changes to the sm import and export framework
around

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/120753

It is exporting correctly. Maybe better to let it ride, and tweak the glitch in

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 152342] New: CALC Identical formula/function producing different results on two different sheets in the same file

2022-12-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152342

Bug ID: 152342
Summary: CALC Identical formula/function producing different
results on two different sheets in the same file
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: that.man.co...@gmail.com

Description:
An identically constructed formula using LOWER() & LEFT() functions on two
"identical" sheets produces two different results.
A simplified example of the source has been attached.
The first sheet is an identical copy of the pertinent sheet in the "master"
document whereas the second sheet is structurally replicating the same sheet
but with most of the cells removed and the FORMULA() function placed
appropriately to demonstrate that the "code" is identical between the two
sheets but the results are not.
It would surprise me if it has anything to do with my user profile as it's the
same profile for both sheets.
What I initially thought was a limitation of the conditional formatting
facility prompted me to break the CF test into simplified "flags" in the cells
adjacent to those requiring CF and it became apparent that the logic was
failing.
When I proceeded to create an "error file" to submit to LO Bugs it became
apparent that the logic is being interpreted differently between the two
sheets.
The original file is five sheets with some fairly comprehensive defined tables,
cross-referencing, URL links to local image files, etc,.
These have all been removed from the attached sample and the error persists.
Let me know if the original is required for any advanced elimination protocols
- NO PERSONAL DATA PRESENT

Steps to Reproduce:
With the attached file observe that the FUNCTION() commands on LogicOK are
identifying the logic comparison between SBee and LogicOK.

Observe that the results on SBee are inconsistent with the logic whereas the
results on LogicOK are consistent.

P10 & AD10 simply repeat B3:B4 which is the procedure for all appropriate
columns on SBee

The flags are validating:-
The words contain the "control" character in the M1:M2 MERGE. Feel free to
amend the control character to qualify/quantify the impact OR edit an invalid
word into the column
The words are not duplicated. Feel free to type a few duplications - you will
need to perform an alpha sort if they are not contiguous
The words are in the correct columns. Feel free to edit a valid word into the
wrong column - or an invalid one for that matter.
Under normal condtions the CF would simply colour fill any offending cells.

Actual Results:
Incorrect logical appraisal for LEFT(P11;1) compared with LOWER(P$10) on the
SBee sheet, correct appraisal on LogicOK

Expected Results:
Correct logical appraisal within both sheets - with particular emphasis on the
production version.

Just to make sure I'm as clear as possible: where I think there might be an
issue is the *cell* resizing shortcut, Ctrl + Alt + , when using the
"Variable" setting.
It is described as "Changes affect the table size", but it doesn't do that. It
only affects the adjacent area, like the "Fixed" setting.

Again, not sure what the solution is.

See the test results in the attachment, with the problem in the last table.

To conclude the input, we should hide the command at the toolbar but keep it at
the notebookbar since this UI usually runs with sidebar closed.

Code pointer in comment 4.

We have two META tickets for table design deck, bug 128570 Table panel of the
Properties deck/tab of the Writer sidebar and bug 112630 Table design content
panel of the Properties deck/tab of the sidebar. Both deal with just one bug.
=> QA, please check this

The dedicated table panel is requested in bug 95279.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140731] EDITING Capitalize Every Word operation slow with large file and enabled change tracking

Heh. I didn't realize that this was a regression - or did I misunderstand? I
don't quite see which fix do you refer to specifically - it would be better if
you pointed to a commit, rather than to release notes that point to a bug with
multiple commit notifications :)

But regarding to "it's easy to fix the bad title casing ... with a few clicks"
- that is so wrong!
See bug 152340. It easily overflows the undo stack, so in addition to not being
able to "easily fix", one looses ability to undo something they did a few
operations ago.

No, please don't. It is plain wrong. When one wants to change something, they
just type over, and it all still is one big change, that simply includes some
unchanged words. Just as UPPERCASE does. See how it includes parts that are
already uppercase, even when they are at the very start/end of the selection.
