Dear bordfeldt,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I have to correct myself. The scanned image is correctly inserted in the

After a long time I now want to check my LO-bugs again.

After updated LO to 6.1.5.2 the problem still exists with the same scanner. I
can still only choose 4800 or 75 dpi.
The difference is ... now the preview is okay, but the scanning takes even in
75 dpi 10 minutes and the image isn't scanned and not inserted in the document.

On Windows 10 with LO 5.1.1.3 scanning works with the affected scanner without
any problems. So I think, it's a linux-related thing. As soon as possible I
will test this problem on a linux-system.

Excuse me, Joel:

Here the steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Connecting the scanner (Canon LiDE110) via USB to the computer.
2. Open LO and create a new empty writer-document.
3. Choose menu-insert-media-scan-select source...
4. The value in device used is genesys:libusb:001:002 and in Resoulution
(DPI) is 4800 preselected.
5. I try to change the dpi-value into another value, but if I select another
entry as 4800 or 75, the value jumps immediately back to 4800. So I can only
scan in 4800 or 75 dpi.
6. I change the values in scan mode: mode to Color and depth to 16
7. I click Create preview.
8. The preview is useless.
9. I click scan
10. The scanned picture is useless.

Problem stays in 4.4.1.2 and is now even more severe

The resolution still can't be set correctly. The resolution-dropdown-list shows
75, 100, 300, 600, 1200, 2400 and (now since 4.4.1.2) 4800 dpi. I can still
choose only 75 or 4800 dpi. If I choose any other value dpi is set to 4800
instead.
Additionally since the upgrade to 4.4.1.2 the scan results in prescan and real
scan are only dark grey and pixelated, while the scanner works well with other
applications like gimp or easyscan. I think the reason is the worong dpi-value.

DPI locked

In LO 4.2.5.2, Debian Wheezy Backports, AMD , I can do
Insert-Image-Scan-Select Source and pick the res i want and it works fine,
repeated 3-4 times. However, a couple of times it locked up and I could not set
the res(dpi) and had to close the app.

Problem stays in 4.2.0.4

The resolution can't be set correctly. The resolution-dropdown-list allows only
75 or 2400 dpi. Pictures are always scanned in 75 dpi. Other settings are
ignored.
