[Libreoffice-qa] First draft for the TestLink admin guide

2017-03-07 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello Sophie, *,
after playing around a bit, I have started to write the admin guide
for TestLink at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/TestLink/Admin_Guide, though I
am still at the beginning of experimenting with TestLink and also
with the documentation of it (found some strange behaviours on
TestLink with my admin account as well as a newly created tester
where I need to search for a solution on TestLink's documentation
and / or issue tracker... :( ). I hope I will find some time the
next days to add further details for it, but would be glad to have
some proofreaders and especially any opinions here:

what do you think about it? Am I "on the right track" (i.e. should
I continue with it that way or would you prefer to see
descriptions from every link beginning on the top left to the
bottom right with its linked sides)?

My idea was to start with user creation (maybe deletion as well) and
assigning roles, later adding test projects for several NL
communities, adding a Bugzilla (or maybe Redmine, if I cannot find a
quick instruction to add ours to TestLink ... ;) ), and let all test
related description go to the user guide ... ;)

But maybe has some better / additional idea what could be added
there ... ;)
Have a nice evening
Thomas.

I have found
http://forum.testlink.org/viewtopic.php?f=52=7493=18448=SSO#p18448
where

$tlCfg->authentication['SSO_enabled'] = false;
$tlCfg->authentication['SSO_method'] = 'CLIENT_CERTIFICATE';
$tlCfg->authentication['SSO_uid_field'] = 'SSL_CLIENT_S_DN_Email';

is mentioned. Maybe changing this to

$tlCfg->authentication['SSO_enabled'] = true;
$tlCfg->authentication['SSO_method'] = 'CLIENT_CERTIFICATE';
$tlCfg->authentication['SSO_uid_field'] = 'SSL_CLIENT_S_DN_Email';

and maybe the last line to

$tlCfg->authentication['SSO_uid_field'] =
'SSL_CLIENT_S_DN_Loginname';

or something like that in its config file could help here?

Thanks for your work on TestLink and have a nice day
Thomas.

[Libreoffice-qa] Where should "Get Help Online" entry lands in non-English versions?

2016-12-11 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hi @ll,
just out of interest: if I go to "Help - Get Help Online..." (or
"Hilfe - Hilfe online erhalten..." in German), it opens a tab in my
browser with the URL http://www.libreoffice.org/?LOlang=de. If using
English UI language, this leads to
http://www.libreoffice.org/?LOlang=en. Interestingly, both show the
main page (http://www.libreoffice.org), but not e.g.
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help or
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support (or for the
German version https://de.libreoffice.org/get-help/feedback/).
Is this intended or is it a bug? And if this is a bug: does anybody
know if it is already reported?

Hello Miguel, *,

it seems, that they report it for their LO version of their used
distro ... ;) Not sure, if they should report it there (at Ubuntu's
/ Linux Mint's / whatever bugtracker, that is ... ;) ).

And as they mention different observations in their use of Calc
("screen rendering is slow", "recalculating the spreadsheet", etc.),
I think it would be difficult to reproduce without

a. either a step by step instruction, so others can try to reproduce
it

or

b. a test document, with which this bug is reproducible.

Otherwise it would be difficult find out if it is really a bug or
just some kind of perceptional meaning ... ;)

Another idea would be to find out if their LO is recognizing their
installed Java™ version and/or if en|disabling OpenCL changes
anything.
HTH
Thomas (who hopefully will find the time later this day to write
this to the bug as well ... ;) ).

[Libreoffice-qa] Click on link in installed help crashes LO master

2016-07-25 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
I found a weird (and hopefully reproducible by others ... ;) ) bug
in master:

1. Download LO master and install it parallel to your normal LO
2. Start LO master
3. Press
4. Press on any link on the right side

On my system
OS: Debian Testing AMD64
LO:
master~2016-07-20_23.34.15_LibreOfficeDev_5.3.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86-64_deb*
with installed en_US lang- as well as helppack
(sorry have not installed it any longer nor its tarballs ... :( )

and

LO: Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build-ID: f9f090d0d0f2b454d6c1dd14fe735e7e83fda9da
CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard;
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:master, Time:
2016-07-24_06:28:54
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group
with installed de_DE, en_US and qtz lang- as well as helppacks
(parallel installed, following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux).

And it does not matter which UI language I use: LO crashes
immediately ... :(

I cannot reproduce this crash with
LO: Version: 5.2.0.3
Build-ID: 7dbd85f5a18cfeaf6801c594fc43a5edadc2df0c
CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8)

nor with

LO: Version: 5.2.1.0.0+
Build-ID: 77421906467e93e06c90740fb4ff95e7b8f8834b
CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard;
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-5-2,
Time: 2016-07-24_14:25:07
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group

nor with

LO: Version: 5.1.5.1
Build ID: 1:5.1.5~rc1-1
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.5; UI Render: GL;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group
(Debian's own version).

Would someone be so kind to test it on his/her system, please?
TIA
Thomas.

not as far as I know. Maybe different Java version, hardware, bad
luck, or something else? I can reproduce it with different versions
from LO, beginning from 5.2.0.3, whereas 5.2.0.2 and earlier 5.2
versions were not crashing at that step ...

the like ... ;)

Sure. XFCE 4.12-3 but do not ask me, what theme (xfce-kde2?
microdeck?). Maybe I will have the time to find this out later ...

[Libreoffice-qa] [Writer] Inserting dummy text, changing font to a non-existing one leads to grey menues in 5.2.0.0RC1

2016-06-24 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
while trying to reproduce bug 100318, I stumbled upon the following
(originally reported to the German discuss list, but found a shorter
way to reproduce it):

1. start Writer
2. enter "dt" and press
3. press to mark the whole text
4. press on the arrow right of the font name in the toolbar Standard
5. insert the name of a font, which is not installed on your system
(e.g. "Calligula")
5. zoom your document to 180% or the like
6. press + (or , it does not matter)

On my system
OS: Debian Testing AMD64
LO: Version: 5.2.0.1
Build ID: fcbcb4963bda8633ba72bd2108ca1e802aad557d
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.5; UI Render: default;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8)
(parallel installed, following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux)

the menues are grey, without any text, visible hints for submenues,
etc. ... :(

Is someone else able to confirm tthis? I cannot reproduce it with
Debian's LO
Version: 5.1.4.2
Build-ID: 1:5.1.4~rc2-2
CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8)
... :(
TIA
Thomas.

[Libreoffice-qa] Resizing image in Calc nearly freezes whole system?

2016-05-28 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
we got a report on the de@discuss list, which seems to be
reproducible on GN/Linux (or better: Debian-based systems). Would
someone be so kind to test it, please?

Steps to reproduce:
1. download
https://media-cdn.ubuntu-de.org/forum/attachments/41/20/8285598-no-border-no-nation.ods
2. open it in Calc
3. click on the image to get the handler
4. drag the right bottom handler to resize it.

On my system (Debian Testing AMD64), this leads nearly immediately
to a system freeze, where I have to switch to a VT to kill the
soffice.bin ... :( The problem is, that still after killing the
process with "kill -9 $PID" will not free the whole RAM / swap /
whatever, so the system still seems to be blocking somewhere ... :(
So be warned ... ;)

Tested with:
LO Version: 4.3.7.2
Build-ID: 8a35821d8636a03b8bf4e15b48f59794652c68ba
(no freeze, but I was only able to resize the image at the right
handler. All others leads to a vanishing image)

Version: 4.4.1.2
Build-ID: 45e2de17089c24a1fa810c8f975a7171ba4cd432
Gebietsschema: de_DE
(same as 4.3.7.2)

Version: 4.4.6.2
Build-ID: 008d5d0ddffba0b82de2a2c36a65b9cba0a6b328
Gebietsschema: de_DE.UTF-8
(freeze)

Version: 5.0.0.5
Build-ID: 437e4abdf9e72fd0a6e6f8697a0e659bc77f9b10
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8)
(freeze)

These are the versions, which I have installed parallel (following
the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux)

Additionally, I tested it with Debian's own version
Version: 5.1.3.2
Build-ID: 1:5.1.3-1
CPU-Threads: 4; BS-Version: Linux 4.5; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8)
, which also nearly freezes the whole system ... :(

I then tried to get a backtrace or even a strace, but alas to no
avail ... :( IMHO this freezes the system much harder than without
them ... :(

Is this reproducible on an other system to anyone? And: are you able
to get a strace / backtrace? Is this already reported to bugzilla?
TIA for testing
Thomas.

Opening a file inside a browser is a configration of your browser.
Don't know if this would be possible for a website to say: No,
the browser shouldn't open this file. It must be downloaded.

I do not know it for sure, but I seem to remember, that you can use
a file on your server to prevent people from downloading stuff from

out, if anything is blocking TDF's BZ ... ;)

[Libreoffice-qa] Symbols in LO 4.4.0.0RC1 too large and pixelated

2014-12-22 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
is it intended, that all that symbols in LO's help are large and
pixelated? At first, I thought it was a problem with our
Germanophone help, but after downloading and installing the en_US as
well, it seems, that they are also too large and pixelated there ...
:(

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start LO in your language (en_US, fr_FR, it_IT, etc.)
2. Press F1 (in the English version you will see the main page for
the help with two large symbols on the left. I am not sure, if you
are seeing them, when you are using a different language, but I
discovered them on one of the spellchecking help pages and one for
drawing a rectangle in German ... ;) )

LO Version: 4.4.0.1
Build ID: 1ba9640ddd424f1f535c75bf2b86703770b8cf6f
Locale: de_DE
(parallel installed, following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel and with
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack)
OS: Debian Testing i686
KDE: 4.14.2
Graphics chip: Intel Mobile 645GSE
Resolution: 1024x600

Would someone be so kind to test it with a different OS/ graphics
chip / resolution /etc, please? TIA :)

If you need any further info, feel free to ask :)

As mentioned on that wiki page, the updater lives in git. Here's

It's possible that the change is intentional, but given than it's

Maybe ... ;)

 I have found it on

below Quick Start. There it links to

 for some reason ... :(

That's where the pre-releases such as 4.4.0.1 live. I just played
around w/urls, and it looks like we can use this as well:

[Libreoffice-qa] How should Calc's WEBSERVICE function work?

2014-12-13 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
either I do not understand this function (which might be ... ;) ) or
I found a bug in it ... :(

When I
1. start Calc
2. then enter, for example, =WEBSERVICE
http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/forecast?q=Berlin,demode=xmlunits=metric;

in e.g. cell A1 (I have tried it with the German =WEBDIENST
http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/forecast?q=Berlin,demode=xmlunits=metric;).

I get a cell with a lot of XML data in A1. Is this a feature or a
bug? I had expected, that Calc would insert all the data in
different cells, but without the XML code around ... :(

BTW: Why are there that much M$ Excel functions flooding Pootle? It
is really time consuming to find out, if they are patented, or
protected by any other rights ... :(
Have a nice day
Thomas.

ah, O.K.

It will just return the data that the url
provides. There is no calc function that will return data to
multiple cells. Normally you would further process that content
with FILTERXML to get the data that you need.

Will this FILTERXML function be implemented as well?

BTW: Why are there that much M$ Excel functions flooding Pootle?
It is really time consuming to find out, if they are patented, or
protected by any other rights ... :(

Because they help interoperability and there is someone
 implementing them.

But are we allowed to use them in LO (and for me as a translator:
Are we allowed to translate them)? Would this not lead to any
copyright infringement and therefore lawsuits in the US / EU against
us?
Thanks for your answer
Thomas.

[Libreoffice-qa] =BETA.INV crashes Calc on Debian Testing i686

2014-12-03 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
maybe it is only a bug on my machine, but I have reproduced this
crash two of three times, and it would be nice, if someone can try
to reproduce it ... ;)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start LO
2. Create a new Calc document
3. Enter =BETA
4. When the autocompletion recommends =BETA.INV(), press Enter.
(one time I need to enter something in the brackets – IIRC, I
entered 4,3 – to get the crash, where I had to click into the
brackets to enter the values there).

On my system, this leads to a crash ... :( When I start LO from
command line, I get

quote
debug:17493:1: BET
debug:17493:1: BET
debug:17493:1: BETA
/quote
.

LO: Version: 4.4.0.0.beta1
Build-ID: 9af3d21234aa89dac653c0bd76648188cdeb683e
Gebietsschema: de_DE

Thanks for testing in advance :)

[Libreoffice-qa] LO master still crashing on Tools - Options - LibreOfficeDev Base

2014-10-26 Thread Thomas Hackert
Good morning @ll,

LibreOfficeDev Base, which I reported here on 3rd of October (see
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-qa/2014-October/007849.html)
... :( Will this bug also be in the upcoming
4.4.0.0alpha1, which should be (already?) released (soon?),
according to
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.4?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start LO
2. go to Tools – Options – LibreOfficeDev Base and either click on
Connections or Database

LO immediately crashes ... :(

Tested with:
LO: Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID:

OS: Debian Testing i686

Could someone else also still reproduce it on a different system?

If the complete version number of the form x.x.x (such as

opening the database creates the configuration folder labeled

Well, I prefer the UserInstallation=$ORIGIN/.. entry, as LO then

These are the connectors I built. Both are for Linux versions
only. The first one is suppose to be the 32 bit version and the
second one should be the 64 bit version.
Thank you very much :) Just out of interest: After I installed
the version from extension.l.o and then wanted to install your
*_1.oxt version, the Extension Manager asked me, if I wanted to
replace my already installed 1.0.3 with your *_1.oxt version,
which he seems to recognise as version 1.0.2 ... :( Is this
expected? Otherwise, it seems to work :) But I did only a quick
test (is it installable? Can I connect LO with MariaDB 10.1?)
with LO 4.2.6, 4.3.1-2 and master (Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build

2014-09-12_11:30:45 on Debian Testing i686, it works so far ...
 ;)

The version number is in the Description.xml file in the oxt
   file.
I had not changed 1.02 to 1.04_3 in the 32 bit version which
 you
used. I had earlier changed this in the 64 bit version, and I
thought I had changed this in the 32 bit version. I have now
corrected this error. Thank you for finding it.

You are welcome :)

   I have a 32 bit MacBook running Kubuntu 14.04 and a 64 bit
   tower
running Ubuntu 12.04. Both have MySQL 5.5 running. I had no
problem installing the correct mysql connector in either of them.
I Then I was able to access the mysql server, open a database, and
even added and modified some data with no problems.
I tested these connectors with LibreOffice 4.1, 4.2, and
   4.3. They
do not work with 4.1, but both work with 4.2 and 4.3.

O.K.

Whether they will work with MariaDB 10.x or not I do not
   know.

I have create a data table in LO with MariaDB 10.1, and added a
couple of data sets. This has worked so far :) Also closing the ODB
file and reopen it again has not shown any problem.

This would have to be determined by someone who has it on their
 computer. I strictly use MySQL.

See above. The only things, which I have not tested by now, are
forms and queries, sorry ... :( Maybe I will find some time this
weekend to test it .. ;)
Have a nice evening
Thomas.

Why PulseAudio? Do you want to play audio via BlueTooth? If you are

[Libreoffice-qa] Impress Remote does not work any longer with LO 4.3.0.0.4 nor with master

2014-08-01 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
is it only me, or does Impress Remote does not work any longer with
newer versions of LO?

I have tested it with LO Version: 4.3.0.4 Build-ID:
62ad5818884a2fc2e5780dd45466868d41009ec0 as well as with
Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID:
9e970303ddcccd9e33641f8f00bbc4c739a58cd7 TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-
x86@45-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2014-07-22_02:33:57 (both parallel
installed, following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel and with
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack) on Debian Testing i686.

I used my Archos 80 Gen 9 tablet with Android 4.0.4 and my Acer
Iconia A1-810 with Android 4.4.2 (both with Impress Remote available
via F-Droid – https://f-droid.org – and via Play Store.) with
Impress Remote 2.1.1 as well with the one from
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Android-ARM@24-Bytemark-Hosting/
(which, btw., is empty today?) from yesterday, IIRC, but to no avail
... :( Can someone confirm this?

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start your Android device
2. Install Impress Remote either via Playstore or – better – via F-
Droid, if you have not done it already ... ;)
3. Start your installed LO Impress
4. Either create a small presentation or open an existing one
5. Start Impress Remote on your Android device
6. On your desktop PC, Laptop, whatever: Go to Slide Show – Impress
Remote

In Impress Remote, you should see the name of your desktop PC,
netbook, whatever or its operating system. But you do not see
anything in LO's Impress Remote dialog ... :( With LO Version:
4.1.6.2 Build-ID: 40ff705089295be5be0aae9b15123f687c05b0a (also with
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack) it works as expected ... ;)

Whould someone be so kind to check, if it the same with iOS, please?
TIA
Thomas.

[Libreoffice-qa] Tools - Options - LibreOfficeDev - Paths does not work in daily master

2014-08-01 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hi again,
stumbled upon the following:

1. Download master from today (http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/)
2. Install it in parallel, follow the instructions from

(especially, edit your bootstraprc or bootstrap.ini to not use your
old profile)
3. Start LO
4. Go to Tools – Options – LibreOfficeDev – Paths
5. Click on the My Documents entry and then Edit...

On my system, I am not able to change the path to a different path
than ~/ ... :(

So to be able to create a document with different headers/footers,
you need to apply a different page styles for each.

[Libreoffice-qa] LO 4.1.6 wizards for fax and letter does not start

2014-06-14 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,

older version of LO), I started my installed LO Version: 4.1.6.2
Build-ID: 40ff705089295be5be0aae9b15123f687c05b0a (with installed
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack) on Debian Testing i686. For
whatever reason, I cannot start either of the both wizards ... :(
 They just spits out

whereas I can remember, that this worked, when I had its RCs
installed in parallel (following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel) with my
then running stable LO version (maybe LO 4.1.5?) ... :(
Can someone confirm this?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start LO
2. Go to either File – Wizards – Letters... or File – Wizards –
Fax

The only wizard, which works without any problem so far, is the
presentation, Document Converter, Euro Converter, and the Address
Data Source wizard ... :(

[Libreoffice-qa] What should Calc Chart GL3D do?

2014-05-24 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
while I was trying to translate LO's UI to German, I stumbled upon
the new Chart type GL3D Bar. To translate it correctly, I created
a new Calc spreadsheet, inserted different values (date, time,
temperatures, or even just a couple of numbers), but I only get a
white frame without any chart, text, title etc. ... :( Is this a bug
or feature (or am I just too dump to understand it) ;?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Calc
2. Insert Value 1, 1, 3, 5 in the first column
3. Insert Value 2, 2, 4, 6 in the second column
(you can even add a third column with Value 3, 3, 6, 9 or
even different headers, type of data like date, time, temperature,
etc. in it ... ;) )
4. Go to Insert – Object – Chart... and click on GL3D Bar below
Choose a chart type

It does not lead to any different observation, if you click through
the Chart Wizard via Next button or if you click on Finish on
my system ... :( I only get a white frame (object?) without any
chart in it ... :(

Would someone be so kind to try it on a different system? Or is here

I would not mail documents randomly to our devs ;) I just
wanted to find out, who of the devs is responsible for the master
document code to ask him, if it is OK to send it after I have
explained the problem to him ... ;)

basically means I expect you to fix it, no matter how many other
things you need to do and that's just not nice.

He, do you really think, I am that evil ;?

IRC just is easiest medium for quick feedback regarding this -
you're not forced to used IRC.

It depends: I remember times during bug hunting parties, where you
have to wait, until someone ansered there ... :( Then again ... This
is the same with mail ... ;)

 [discus, disk or something else?]

Ring, CD, but not discus or disk - that is misleading. And write
that it is one with big radius, otherwise the screenshot in the
bug doesn't make it clear what is being talked about.
And no need to rewrite the comment again.

O.K.

[How to find a string in one ODT]
for file in *.odt; do cp -f my-one-sample.odt $i; done

i.e. for each file U1 whatever, it copies (and overwrites,
that's what the -f switch does) a single document, in this case
  my-one-sample.odt. over the file.

 I get an
 quote
cp: cannot stat 'my-one-sample.odt': No such file or directory
 /quote
 here ... :(

Well - that is the placeholder for the one filename you want to
use. Obviously I have no idea how you name your documents / how
the documents in the example are all called :-)

But ... I understood this command that way, that it will create my-
one-sample.odt, if it does not exist. And this was my intention :)
I just copied your example as is to prevent any typos ... ;) Does it
mean, that I have to create this file beforehand?

but it might just be a drawing shape.

for file in *.odt; do zipgrep 'draw:type=ring' $file
/dev/null echo Ringshape in file $file; done

 Again, only an error message:
 quote
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `'
 /quote

PS: - Just use a blank line - that makes it easier to parse
quickly (at least for me :-)) the lenghty quote isn't
 necessary.

O.K.

And yes, it is a copy'n'paste error. the whole commans is meant to
be put on a single line.
And it is meant to be run from the directory where all the odts
are - otherwise the *.odt won't match anything.

I had run it in the directory with all the odt files ... ;)

 for file in *.odt;

means get a list of all files with odt extension and run a loop
with it. For each file you encounter, assign the filename to the
 variable file

O.K.

 do zipgrep 'draw:type=ring' $file /dev/null echo
 Ringshape in file $file

means: for each file, run the command zipgrep. Search for the
string 'draw:type=ring' in the file named $file (that is where
we reuse the variable define in the previous part), and discard
the output if it matches (redirect stdout to /dev/null , that is
the /dev/null part. content.xml has no linebreaks, and when
the zipgrep matches, it would pint a hge line to the terminal
that we're not interested in anyway. If zipgrep did find
something, then output the name of the file with the echo
 statement.

Ah, O.K.

means. If the previous command returned without error, then run
 the second one.
 || would be the opposite: if the previous command returned with
 || error (in
the case of zipgrep: string wasn't found), then run the second
one. ; is the third way: No matter whether previous command was
successful or not, just run the second one anyway.

O.K.

 done

marks the end of the statement that should be repeated. so
everything between the do and done is executed for each file.

O.K. Thank you for your crash course with Bash oneliners :)

... :( First I thought, some kind of cp errors with your
 commands,
changed any quotation mark and inverted comma, but this does not
solve the problem ... :( /me thinks, I should learn a little bit

Wouldn't hurt to know some basic shell-scripting :-))

Sure :) Just need an easy to understand and fast too read guide ...

zipinfo: cannot find or open , .zip or .ZIP.
/usr/bin/zipgrep: 97: test: -eq: unexpected operator
/usr/bin/zipgrep: 100: test: Illegal number:

That comment is written in a rather unclear fashion. It misses
what a) actually refers to. From context one can guess that those
are the versions that you can reproduce with.

I confirm, I should have written this in a more understandable
manner, sorry ... :( Yes, that were the versions, with which I could
reproduce the bug.

And also still unclear what discus is, as in the crippled
screenshot I cannot see anything that resembles a disc/round
 object/discus.

I am still not sure, how I should name it, as this discus (as Ton
has named it) stretches over several sides, so if I look at it, it
seems to form a disc (like the outer part of an CD). And circle does
not seem to fit here as well ... :(

While you speculate earlier that it is the white bar with the
black outline, you write ... does not show the discus (or maybe
better disc?) - I neither see something that looks like a floppy

Well, there are also Compact Disk ... ;) I have looked for a better
word, but alas was not able to find one ... :( As written above,
this white (pitch or graduated?) circle on the screenshot spans over
the following sides, so it seems to form a whole circle. But if you
use either a larger display and a smaller zoom factor than 50 or
100%, this effect does not show (that is, what Ton told me). I
cannot confirm it, as I have only my 10 netbook here ... :(

 And now? As
I am not a dev, I will not be able to fix it ... :( The master
document in question depends on 100 ODT files with pictures and
the like, so it would be hard to create one master document with
that amount of ODTs (or better say: I would not have the time for
it the next months) ... :(

The crux is not to create a new set of documents, but to trim down
the existing ones to show the problem.

O.K.

i.e. first replace all documents with a single one (i.e. copy one
document and name it like the others) - this is easily done, but

But if it does still show, then that does already help a lot.

Hm. Maybe I will have the time the next days, but I cannot give such

[Libreoffice-qa] Empty menus in LO master

2014-04-27 Thread Thomas Hackert

TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@45-TDF, Branch:master, Time:

my astonishment I discovered, that all menus are shown, but if you
open an menu, you will only see the entry of the marked menu item,
but no other (sub) menus ... :( Can anyone confirm this with another
OS/architecture?

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download an daily build for master
2. Install it on your system
3. Start LO
4. Look at the menus and open them

You will only see the marked menu item or the one, where you move
your mouse pointer to ... :(

Sorry for the inconvenience

[Libreoffice-qa] Crash on Writer/Web, when you use Format - Page ... :(

2014-04-23 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
this was reported to the Germanophone discuss list, but I think,
some of you may be interested in it as well ... ;)

1. Start LO
2. Go to File – New – HTML Document
3. Go to either Format – Page or rightclick in the page and choose
Page

LO immediately crashes ... :(

I discovered, that I cannot reproduce it with LO Version: 4.1.6.1
Build ID: a59ce81388f477fc89db57f0c27f222f31884eb and LO Version:
4.3.0.0.alpha1 Build ID: 46cfcd5a05aa1d13fecd73f5a25b64b8d8dd6781
(though I needed to wait nearly 4 or 5 minutes, until the dialog
Page Style: HTML opened on my single core Intel Atom system with
1.6 GHz and 1 GB RAM ... :( ). But it crashes immediately with LO
Version: 4.2.3.3 Build-ID: 882f8a0a489bc99a9e60c7905a60226254cb6ff0
as well as with LO Version: 4.2.4.1 Build ID:
d4c441391e20647b3d2e8dde4d20aa868e77e515 (all versions parallel
installed, following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel, and with
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack).

Would anyone else be so kind to try to reproduce it with different
OS/architecture/language/etc., please? And does anybody know, if
this is already reported to Bugzilla?

TIA
Thomas.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel) with
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack under Debian Testing i686 ...
:(

For me that would be a blocker.
[Instead of solid, dashed etc. only NONE]

And it is a regression, as older versions (LO Version: 4.1.5.3
Build-ID: 1c1366bba2ba2b554cd2ca4d87c06da81c05d24, LO Version:
4.2.3.3 Build-ID: 882f8a0a489bc99a9e60c7905a60226254cb6ff0 and LO
Version: 4.2.4.1 Build ID: d4c441391e20647b3d2e8dde4d20aa868e77e515,
all on the same system, and with Germanophone lang- as well as
helppack) has a dotted, dashed etc. line style there ... :(

@cloph: Do the following:
1. Start Writer
2. Go to Format - Page...
3. Look at dropdown menu below Style

In former versions, you will see – hm ... is drawn through the
right term here? – line there. If you click on the arrows right to
it, you will see the other possible line styles here. In
4.3.0.0alpha1, you will only see an empty dropdown menu entry and if
you click on the arrows, you will see - none - instead of the
different styles ... :(
HTH

[Libreoffice-qa] Resizing preview of Draw drawing does not work any longer in 4.3.0.0alpha0, when openening a pdf?

2014-04-20 Thread Thomas Hackert
Hello @ll,
while I was looking at bug
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76500, I discovered the
following:

0. either download the TeX file
(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=96230) and create
your own PDF file, or download the attached PDF
(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=96228), or use one
of your own PDFs ... ;)
1. Start LO
2. Open the downloaded PDF
3. Rightclick on ... not sure, how this is called in English, sorry
... the part with X% on the bottom right of the Draw window
4. Select 100% (or even higher values)

On my system, the page stays at the same size, though the value
changed correctly to 100% ... :(

Tested with
LO Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID:
7f62b44458fb27f8aca652436aeafb5e033264bd
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@45-TDF, Branch:master, Time:
2014-04-19_22:51:48 (but also with
master~2014-04-10_02.05.19_LibreOfficeDev_4.3.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz),
parallel installed, following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel
OS: Debian Testing i686

Interestingly, this works without any problems (means: Draw resizes
the inside of the window, so I could read the text in a normal size
... ;) ) with – also parallel installed – versions 4.1.6.1, 4.2.3.3
and 4.2.4.1 (all with Germanophone lang- as well as helppack). Could
anyone else with a different OS/architecture confirm this, please?
TIA
Thomas.

[Libreoffice-qa] Inserting an image from an URL removes page break in LO 4.1.5.3?

2014-04-06 Thread Thomas Hackert
Good morning @ll,
while I was looking through the list of unconfirmed bugs, I
discovered bug #76624
(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76624). To reproduce
this bug, I copied an image from
https://www.google.com.mx/search?q=solsource=lnmstbm=ischsa=Xei=R5UyU5e5OOXLsQT8rIDAAwved=0CAYQ_AUoAQbiw=1024bih=483#facrc=_imgdii=_imgrc=LqB-IrJ9puxFEM%253A%3BJ_D6dBUvsAJ5qM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fupload.wikimedia.org%252Fwikipedia%252Fcommons%252Ff%252Ff6%252FAfiche_del_sol.svg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fes.wikipedia.org%252Fwiki%252FSol%3B3880%3B2560

into Writer via context menu and selecting Paste. This neither
crashes nor slows down Writer, as the bug reporter has written it in
his bug description. So far, so good :)

But when I deselect the image, go to Insert – Manual Break... and
press Enter, I can paste the same copy of this picture on the
following page in LO Version: 4.2.3.3 Build ID:
6c3586f855673fa6a1576797f575b31ac6fa0ba3 (parallel installed,
following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel) with
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack under Debian Testing i686. So
far, so good, so ... ;)

But if I try the same with LO Version: 4.1.5.3 Build-ID:
1c1366bba2ba2b554cd2ca4d87c06da81c05d24, it removes the page break
instead ... :(

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to the above mentioned Gargle link
2. Rightclick on one of the images and choose Copy image (or
something like that. In German, it is Grafik kopieren)
3. Open Writer
4. Rightclick in Writer and choose Paste
5. Click somewhere next to the image to deselect it
6. Go to Insert – Manual Break...
7. Press the Enter key
8. Try this in 4.1.5.3 as well as 4.2.3.3.

You will see, that in 4.2.3.3 the page break will still be there
after inserting the image on the second side. In LO 4.1.5.3 this
page break will vanish ... :(

Can someone confirm it with a different OS/architecture or even in
an older version of LO? Does anybody know, if this is already
reported? Or should I add this as a comment to bug #76624??
TIA
Thomas.

I also can reproduce a major slowdown and freezes. Also I can
reproduce the fact the second pasted image removes the page break.

thank you very much for confirming :)

 Steps to reproduce:
 1. Go to the above mentioned Gargle link
 2. Rightclick on one of the images and choose Copy image (or

page break will vanish ... :(

Confirmed, in 4.2.3.3 the page break retains.

Thanks again :)

Can someone confirm it with a different OS/architecture or even
in an older version of LO? Does anybody know, if this is already
reported? Or should I add this as a comment to bug #76624??

Not sure this is already reported, but I'm not sure reporting a
bug for LibreOffice 4.1-branch is worth it. If we find/bibisect
the commit that fixed this issue, it may not be backportable to
 upcoming EOL version 4.1.6.

O.K.

Also it _might_ be fixed thanks to the fix of bug 52547
 (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52547)

Thank you for this link :) I will read this bug report later today
... ;)
Thanks again for testing
Thomas.

available to test the iOS remote, and see just a couple of names
 available for Android:
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Team

I cannot help here, sorry ... :(

Testing the remote shouldn't take too long -- in fact, this seems
like an ideal use-case for MozTrap, where one could just walk
through a list of manual tests to perform and complete the process
 in under half an hour.

You cannot test that much with Impress Remote in Android 4.2.2 on an
Acer A1-810 with Impress Remote:

That would be nice ... ;)
