This has probably been covered before, but can someone point me to where
this is?

I have working PCMCIA floppy and CD-rom drives. Any advice?

Thanks!

Sure.
You might try Google, or seek the Libretto searchable archives first:

[LIB] 100CT Serial Mouse

2005-07-26 Thread Tony Oresteen

From: Tony Oresteen [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: 100CT Serial Mouse

I can not get my Libretto 100CT to recognize a Microsoft serial mouse in the
docking station or via a PCMCIA serial card.

Windows 98 reports that the serial ports are fine but the mouse is not present.

I checked the mouse on another computer and it is working fine via COM1.

I did a Google on this and found some issues with the Model 50 but not the 100
or 110.

I've tried both settings in the BIOS for pointing device but no luck.

Does anyone have a serial mouse working with a Libby 100/110CT?

TIA

Tony

1. Using boot floppy disk (DOS, Linux, etc), fdisk format the HD. For most
OSs, make it primary, bootable, active for the partition you want the OS to be
installed into.

2. Transfer OS to the HD any way possible - Ethernet card, serial/parallel
laplinki/dcc compatible cable from a desktop, copied over many floppy disks,
dos cd-rom drivers from a cd-rom drive, etc.

3. run the OS setup program to install the OS, then copy/download the Toshiba
drivers.

Simple as that.

Otherwise, faster method to get an OS to the HD is to fdisk and format the HD,
pull the HD, attach to 2.5 to 3.5 IDE converter ($10 or so), attach to
desktop PC, copy the OS to the HD, reinstall HD into the Libretto, run OS setup
program.

You can also do a floppy disk remote install of Linux if installing that over
ethernet.

What size is the drive? If it is greater than 8 gigs you will have to make
a special partition for the hibernate area. Search the archives as I posted
very detailed info on how to do this last year.
