Do you have pictures of what you did?
About the bios I don't know but try to find out by using the L100mm.pdf
document to see whether the memory slot that is used in the libretto does have
enough signals to handle 64MB modules.

I'm currently dissasembling the BIOS with IDA pro but I cannot tell you yet how
and where the memory initialization is handled.

I have now gotten my L100 motherboard modified (had the BIOS-connector
relocated) and have cut out a piece of the Libretto's construction to fit
the 64mb upgrade module.

The memory module I'm using is a Kingston KTT3010/64i (64mb). Equiv. Toshiba
PA2067U.

My Libretto will (no longer) start when I have this module in. If I try
without the module, the libretto starts. I then put the module in and both
BIOS and Windows ME tells me that I only have 64mb of RAM :(

So it doesn't seem to work. Maybe there is a limit in the BIOS to how much
memory is allowed. I'm using version 8.1.

Anybody got any ideas?

[LIB] 100/110ct questions about 75mhz bus speed and 96mb RAM

2006-11-06 Thread Anders Nordin

From: "Anders Nordin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: 100/110ct questions about 75mhz bus speed and 96mb RAM

Hi!

I'm one of the few who have tried running a 100ct at 300mhz at 75mhz bus
speed (4x75mhz).
It was ok for a couple of hours or so, but then began to restart before the
OS had finished loading.

After that, a guy helped me to put cooling paste on the processor’s own
paste and I'm thinking of trying 300mhz again and see if it might work
better now. I know of a guy who was able to run his 110ct at 300mhz
(although it was hot, I think).

But even if 300mhz would still not work for me, it might just be the
processor that can't handle the extra speed. So I'm thinking about keeping
the bus speed at 75mhz, but change the multiplier to 3,5x instead. 75x3,5 =
263mhz. I'm sure that the extra bus speed would increase the performance of
the libretto quite well in comparison to 66x4 = 266mhz.

Has anybody tried 75x3,5?? Did it work?

I also have the 64mb memory module for Portege 3110CT which could work with
the 100ct. But a connector is in the way (might be easy to trim down) and
the memory module is too big for the Libretto cover.

Has anybody moved the connector that is in the way and cut of a piece of the
libretto to fit the memory module? Did it all work? 96mb of total RAM?

The screens are the same.
Only difference here is the cpu speed and that the damn battery in the 100

Erk Mis-typed there... The 110CT was probably bad and you put the one

John,

Not that I know of. When I was swapping HDs left and right between 2 110s
and a 100, I never had to change the drivers (dropping the 100 stock HD into
a 50, however, was a disaster).

I'm curious. Just what did you switch these from, and to what. And how
does swapping these create a virtual 110CT? I thought the only difference
between the two was the 166MHz > 233MHz CPUs.
