I just RTM'd, seems like it does this via the --loginuri command line switch
Seriously neat stuff. I found out that you can't just change the key
when injecting a chat packet into the stream, evidently..

SLProxy applications get in by masquerading as the login server. You
start a proxy, which will say something like:
proxy ready at http://127.0.0.1:8080/
Then you start Second Life with the switch: -loginuri http://
127.0.0.1:8080/
