I have significantly modified the license. I apologize for not making
these changes before sending my original request for approval. These
changes were necessary however. I am going up against big business and
simply needed to clarify a few things and add a few added protections to
the license.
[My apologies if you receive this twice; I thought I sent it in text
format the first time...]
This is a formal request that the OSI Board approve the license I have
created, the Simplified Artistic License. I have patiently listened to
all feedback regarding this license and adjusted it

Thank you, Bruce. I too think my license is better for having gone
through this process, and I am very grateful.

If it would please Russ, and the OSI, then I propose accepting a
template of my license, which could be called the Simplified Artistic

(1) the Artistic License has some archaic conditions within it, (2) it

Dear Russ,
I can understand your point of view, I just wonder if you can see mine?
I am an artist. I develop software, and that's what I love doing. I
also love offering it to others, but I want to maintain some semblance
of artistic control over my software. It's like my baby, after all.

And for good reason. I just noticed
it still does to some, but for others, and not just I, its

the same artistic license
I agree with you, Lewis. That is selfish of me to say you cannot sell
my free software.
I'll take that out of the license right now.
I still want to see my license approved because I think there is a need
for it. I think it would even serve the needs of Henry Piffers, who

Mahesh,
I do not believe technically that the configuration wizard would suffice

because you must first install the package on your system (it must be
