The short answer is that you don't input the music score line by score
line.
Just enter the full piece as one unit:
§\version 2.10.20
\header{ title = Listen to the Rain }
upper = \relative c'' {
\clef treble
\key bes \major
\time 4/4
\tempo 4=120
g g a bes d2 c2 bes1
bes4 bes bes a g ees2. r1

Hello, I am brand new to Lilypond and this list so hello to everyone. I think
this program is brilliant and am currently using it on an intel mac running
10.4.9 and it works great.
I have been hunting around for a program that will produce a musical bar as an

Thanks for the responses, everyone. Thank you, Mats Bengtsson. You gave
me what I needed. The \break was necessary.
Now, with a little further tweaking I'll have it.
Thanks again,

If you put an underscore there, it will show as a space, but the To

I hope you have realized that there already are some similar web

you can see an example of an incipit, as the term is used in the LilyPond

Thanks for the quick and very helpful response Mats. I have subscribed to the
dev list now and will ask around in there to see what I can do seeing as I am
a programmer and may actually be able to contribute this to Lily.
Cheers,
Chad.

Bom dia pra tudos,
this is an interesting error message, but need to have the exact
version number of the binary involved. Could this be 2.11.22 ? I did
some major restructuring in GUB, which might have messed up some of
the binaries.

Hello everybody!!
I'm trying to change the font used to print the chord names using the

Thanks, Graham -
I feel only partly stupid : I don't normally think hairpin, but
crescendo and/or decrescendo. I looked up crescendo in the
documentation, and was directed close to, but not at, the relevant text.

You can fix both of these with staff-padding; see the section on Moving
Objects in the manual.
