OK so I'm finally moving up to Director MX 2004.
I'm updating a huge project which was released three years ago and
was authored in Director 8.5. The project is choking on old MIAW
code. Terms like windowType and titleVisible.
I see there is new code in MX04 which accomplishes all I could

code. If you are likely to start using any of the new lingo for
MX04, just set the scriptExecutionStyle=10 before the new code.
You can also just set it in the message window and the property will
be saved with the movie.

object stuff to work in MX2004 no matter the scriptExecutionStyle.

I'm finding that out right now. Nothing seems to make the old code
work properly. Even this:
the scriptExecutionStyle = 9
windowObj.windowType = 49
I did try setting it in the message window, many times. And it did
stick. At least according to the message window:
-- Welcome to Director --
put the scriptExecutionStyle
-- 9
But it still chokes on the old style MIAW lingo. Bummer
