Hello Ray,
what kind of attachment are you using for the 3592? FCP of Ficon? Are
they in a library of any sort or are they manually operated? You mention
BrightStor Enterprise/ARCserve Backup, I assume you use them with that.
What are you using for tape management? Also a CA product?
Best regards
Mark,
I can't, I don't have the hardware (yet). I want to make sure there
will be working drivers for Linux on zSeries before spending $$$ buying
hardware I might not be able to use. I visited the developerWorks site
and specifically studied the 3590 OCO drivers, but found no mention of

Hi,
Has anyone heard of configuring Linux for DSR?
Our network people tell me that in order to use linux390 on our load
balancer efficiently, we need to configure it for DSR. They say it is
'Dynamic Server Reconnect'. It is where the load balancer selects which
server is to handle the re
I found that 3 minidisks were not formatted/ partitioned. I missed them
because Linux did not sense these earlier and I did not see them.
I think those error messages indicate probably that the partitions were
not formatted.

CA has one that we got to work with VTS as well as 3592s, but it might only come
bundled with the BrightStor Enterprise/ARCserve Backup product.

Does anyone know if Tivoli has published their API for ITM (The IBM Tivoli
Monitor component)? I am considering a non-Tivoli (perhaps home-brew)
replacement for postemsg.
Thanks,

Is anyone using these and, if so, how is it working for you?
We are in the middle of an upgrade to 4.1.1 so our Tivoli folks can't help
us just now.

Have you tried the tape_3590 OCO driver from IBM's developerWorks?

The following is from DirMainy support, Mark Ritter:
The workunit is NOT done.
Indications:
(a) The destination address is located on volume $$.
(b) Some of the self-generated "commands" within the work unit have
a status of "NTRIED" or "Not Tried", as oposed to those that are
"DONE"
Something's different.
I just went to the Novell site via my bookmark, signed on, started
downloading CD6 and there is 633MBs. Amazing. Passed the 25 MB mark
and still going.
Makes me wonder what has changed. Perhaps I should redownload
everything and start over.

I did this particular download at home, on a Windows 2000 box, using Mozilla

Hi Mark
What are you using to download. I've only been using Netscape. What
OS are you using for the download (XP, Linux?)
Thanks

Of course I should have included, this applies only to devices that
support PAV, which I do not believe the RVA does.

Hello list,
my question is: are there any drivers for 3592 tapes for any Linux on
zSeries?
I think the answer is no, but I need confirmation of this.
Thanks.
