In a way, it's remarkable that this little script ever finishes. We would
never be able to go so far into swap space if we were swapping to physical disk
on a PC.

seriously: it's really not hard to configure Postfix for this.
You basically have to set the myhostname and relayhost variables in
/etc/postfix/main.cf. Be kind to your mail group and accept bounces.
