get Linux to stop using IPv6 DNS resolution. With multiple search domains,
Linux will try all of them in IPv6 before it tries IPv4. Especially when
considering the IBM WebSphere is excessive with its use of DNS lookup,

I just tried it in SLES10 SP3. Works just fine with either Layer 2 or 3
without IPV6. SLES11 requires it for Layer 3, but that just tells you what you
need to do when installing
