i.e, every linux have a total memory of 1024 Mb and a swap area of 128 Mb. Each Linux guest is running a Domino Server 6.5.2 with 400 mail users ( at the end there will be five linux guests with 5000 mail users ). Now, we're having problems with VM paging. Here is a sample of our RTMGEN. DEV

I can not add much to what Pieter already explained. When you expect these virtual machines to be active at the same time, you should have at least 3-4 GB in z/VM. If you don't have that, then you need to make the virtual machines smaller (and give more VDISK in return). If z/VM has that much

Your linux will page into the fast zvm vdisk. This should be no problem and is much better then using dasd as swap storage. If you can spare the real to back those vdisks. If you are real constrained already it won't help you much. You may be better of by swapping to real disks in that case.

There are many potential problems here. You might want to download the IBM Redbook: IBM LOTUS DOMINO 6.5 for LINUX on zSeries Implementation and review the chapters on performance and capacity planning. Date: Thu, 9 Dec 2004 09:57:57 +0100 From: Aristarc Diez Redorta [EMAIL PROTECTED]
