That did it.
In the past I used ch-boot to generate the pxe config files and then
edited them manually. I thought I had to have anboth root and nfsroot
parameters. I didn't understand the difference. Still don't actually.
But I see that the root parameter is correct the way ch-boot generates

I'm a little unclear on how to use FAI profiles. I created a profile file:
/srv/fai/config/class/myprofile.profile
Now I'd like to perform a dirinstall using this profile. The profile file
defines the classes I want to apply to the new system/chroot. I'd assumed

FAI profiles are only used if the flag menu is used which is normally
not done
