Will not work. Squid can not work as proxy for regular ( WS-FTP, CuteFTP)
ftp clients, i think they have that issue explaned in the FAQ. Only
browsers, which actually emulate ftp through http can work, but transparent
proxying doesn't work either. Such a pitty.

driver, they answer me once and kept silent after that, but at least talked to
me.

Sendmail on freshly installed RH71 (2 machines) does not respond to
connections:
telnet MYIP 25 - Unable connect to host: connection refused.

I did succeed in the past to d/l and then install RH5.0, 5.1, 5.2 but
