We are looking for UPS recommendations that would fit following criterias:
1) Connection between the UPS and computer is made using TxD and RxD pins
ONLY (except ground). In Best Power UPSes it was called smart mode of
operation.
2) Smart mode of operation must be fully described

What software package are you using?
I have such ups myself and use the nut package. However Advice is not
willing
DOnt buy "Advice" Becouse you cant controll it from linux.

What about dumb mode (using 2 wires of the RS232 connector for "ON BAT" and
"BAT IS LOW", or something similar)? I believe that NUT's genericdriver does
it.
