I was looking for a way to do this for quite sometime. The problem is
that LaTeX interprets the '$' in $Id$ as enter math mode and thus
doesn't render the CVS Id string appropriately. A nice hack is to do:
$ $Id$ $
Works like a charm!

Hi all,
All of you have probably heard a lot about the planned Linux conference
of People and Computers, with Oracle/Sun/others.
If anybody still doesn't know, the original date (March 6) is not
relevant anymore (several weeks ago, some people thought that the war

One trick I use when a console locks is to log in via the network
and just run chvt. On Slackware, for example, X runs on VT2,
and a spare console on VT6. Usually I only need to 'chvt 6; sleep
5; chvt 2' and I regain control. (Only 'chvt 6' is needed, but why
not change it back?)

I remember seeing a Hebrew TeX mailing list somewhere. I don't know if
