Well, I think you didn't install it due it closeness, if I'm right... My suggestion would be to install the closed driver and see if this problem returns. If it's not, then you should file in a bug with the X.org. If the problem still there, then it could be either the card or the camera's

I don't have gspca for my current kernel (2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686) and the gspca-source package didn't compile for it (there are Debian bugs filed for it). My story with gspca and the above video card is filed as bugs with Debian: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=444314
