I can confirm this is an issue in Fedora 16 using Gnome 3. Using standard Fedora theme in Gnome 3. I've noticed this as well. This is also happening to me, using 1.4.0 in Ubuntu Studio 10.10, with Gnome 2.32 Not only do the icons and tabs keep vanishing, but now the slider marker on the timeline keeps going invisible too. Very annoying, as it makes it almost impossible to know where I am in the timeline if the slider is not there.
