I can't see from your post what is missing, but I have myself had access to a Z6 (Linux based by the way) and it worked well with regard to copying files between the phone, it's microSD card and my Linux PC. My guess is that your kernel configuration isn't quite right. What catches my eye from

I've been looking at buying a usb 2.0 sound interface to record from an XLR microphone. And I can't seem to get any verification of any such devices actually working, and to what extent it works. I'm wanting something like the tascam US-122L, or US-144, but google hits on those say they don't
