I got the USB working wothout problems after compiling a 2.6.7 kernel. I
notice that the last kernel message I get from the USB subsystem after
boot (but before something is connected) is:
uhci_hcd :00:1d.3: suspend_hc
Does that mean the hardware goes into a suspended mode?

After installing Slackware 10.0 from the CD, the new system does not handle
the USB system properly. The machine is a Dell Dimension 8400 with 4 GB of
Ram and the kernel is the 2.4.25 stock SCSI.s boot-disk. The modules

Can someone recommend a sound card working through a USB 1.1 port? I want
to be able to record and playback at sample rates to at least 44.1 K.
Other features are icing. I'm using the 2.4.22 kernel with the Slackware
9.1 distribution.

I'm setting up a USB printer. I get this line:
printer.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 2 if 0 alt 1 proto 2 vid

Am I correct that the printer device is device 2, a pty? If so, how do I
use this device?
