...And the chocolate fish goes to David Pugh for this reply off-list: " The problem is that Suse installs IPV6 networking entries into the configuration by default. Mozilla has a problem with it's gethostbyname logic when dealing with IPV6. You need to edit /etc/hosts and remove (or comment out)
