Take the /proc/meminfo data with a grain of salt. Last I heard
(unfortunately too long ago) Linux used lazy release of memory pages,
meaning it keeps stuff around in memory until someone else needs it.
So the reported "free" memory is often much lower that what is
really available.

For the email address, I suggest an alias on tux that expands both to
sysadmin (a mailman list) and a real person or three. Maybe Lisa, me

One approach is to debug that. Make sure no statements are causing
the udev rules you show below to be skipped, and/or move them earlier in

If the kickstart files are in /etc, then you can use etckeeper. It
wraps git (by default - it could use mercurial, bazaar or darcs
instead). You'd only have to issue git commands if you want to
recover files.
