Can you please provide us with a link to this Atom board you are using?
I`m at the same point with Alix hardware, very good and reliable hardware, but
we need more NICs and firepower in small factor boards.

Sorry but I can`t see any good point for this.
PFsense is a well known distribution due to the stability of it`s
core-components and as a Firewall/Router appliance, not an all in one
distribution.
There are dozens of linux-based file-server distributions around, even at a
small-office you
This option Sticky Connections doesn`t wotk for dual-wan load balance, it`s
made for the Balancer (load balance between two or more internal webservers
from outside world for example).
You should force HTTPS to always use the same link instead (just create a

I believe they also use (among other things) IPtables with Layer 7 support, you
can catch a lot of things using this.

Hi folks,
Is it possible to use User Groups from an Windows 2003 AD inside SquidGuard
(proxy filter) to create ACLs?
I`m already running Squidguard ACLs with rules per user, but i want to create
ACLs based on AD groups too.
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance.
Diego.
The best way to deal with this should be to set a very high burst rate on
limiter/shaper rules. (I don`t know what is the maximum allowed time in
PFsense), Let`s say for example 10 minutes, for the FTP/WEB server so when some
user really needs to download a big file he will have 10 minutes at
I agree that USB-Ethernet is something very unstable depending basically what
chipset is used. We should always preffer onboards an/or PCI cards rather than
USB Ethernet.
I've tried 10 or more different chipsets, from the cheapest USD 0,99

Hi Chris,
I have the same problem here, need a low-power low-cost solution like the
excelent Alix board, but with 4 or more 10/100 ports.
After weeks of research I discovered that there is nothing like the Alix boards
with more ports =/. You can find some good ARM and PPC solutions with a

Suresh,
The configuration of lightsquid in PFsense is pretty simple, just make sure you
didn`t change the location of Squid log file (/var/squid/log by default) and
you`re done.
Also check if you`re using IP resolve method (future) DNS

Hi Cleber,
You should use Services/DNS Forwarder in this case
Just add the hosts/ips in the Override field, like the /etc/hosts...

I tried this some time ago (during 2.0 RC3) and, for me, it doesn`t work.
I did everything exactly as the how-to said, but when the WAN wich is the
default route goes down, Squid stop working. When the second link (not the
default route) fails, everything goes well.
If you have any success
