nope, upgraded about 20 different test boxes/vm's already without any issue

had same prob in past with (nearly) death harddisk/ssd.
so download was good, storing bad = bad checksum.

This kind of error can happen for 2 reasons:

1. Metadata is out of date. In this case simplest solution is to run
'pkg update -f' on console just to be sure it's updated

2. File is corrupting during download

I upgraded a couple pfSense boxes without difficulty, including one
virtual test server a few hours ago.

Nothing on our side as far as we've seen. Large numbers of completed
upgrades without issue.

Probably the transfer was cut off or something happened upstream, or
potentially a local storage issue.
