Just a guess, but what filesystems are on those partitions? If the Linux
kernel doesn't have a compatible filesystem, it won't be able to read them.

Hi,
has anybody on this list tried to use an ipod as local device?
When i plug in the ipod (nano) via usb i get messages on the client
console/screen
showing that the ipod gets detected (with to partiotions sda1 and sda2)
but after that no drive appears in /etc/fstab.
Any hints, how to proceed?

Works for me too :)

Frank,
It could be that your video card or driver doesn't support DPMS.
What video card do you have, and which driver is it using?

Just a dumb question, but have you restarted the client?

Thanks for the advice with svn. I'll try to find out more about it.
Maybe we try it this way, though the Xen solution Chris Fanning
proposed has its own special charme :-)

This is something I kept on trying but did not fully understand, hence
the alternative.
Hi,
Getting back to the xen idea, when copying one updated server image
and pasting it on an existing server image, we save these files first
(from the destination image) in a tar, then after pasting the new
image, we unpack the tar ontop.
#!/bin/bash
now=`date +'%Y-%m-%d.%H.%M.%S'`
tarname="$HO
