THe display from SVGA to VGA? I cannot find it in
the XF86Config-4.
I recently downloaded and installed successfully
teh Nvidia drivers for Linux but the display mode is VGA and it is set to SVGA
in the Xserver. I am running Mandrake 9.2 and I cannot seem to find this
setting.

I might be wrong, and I dunno if I understand your question correctly,
but isn't that part of the monitor definition ? Therefore, if you
reconfigure your XServer change the monitor setting from svga to vga.
