Hello Stefano,
Well done and keep the good work up :)
I was just wondering, am I the only one with this:

Totally blank no matter what I choose.
Thanks!
P.S.I'm not a fan of Software Center and never use it but for the sake of our
team, I'm testing it :)

Great :) Good to see some progress on it.

Btw, I only have an empty list of package, when I click on any
categories. I have also a bunch of :
Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_get_pointer: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW
(window)' failed
But terminal doesn't give more information. Maybe it's a good time to
implement a logging facility ? ;)

Congratulations! =]

But I have a doubt... You said that the gtk2 version won't be supported
anymore... But as far as I know, Lubuntu 11.10 will be gtk2, right?? So, if
I want to have LSC on 11.10, I will need both gkt2 and gkt3 libraries?? (one
for the LSC and other for the rest of the system)

In a way or another, I will install it.

Best regards,

Gabriel Salles

[Lubuntu-desktop] Lubuntu Software Center Gtk3

2011-10-09 Thread Stefano
Hi, after a week, the gtk3 version of lubuntu software center is released, the
package is building, so wait a moment ;-)
with this version, LSC is completely ported to gtk3, the gtk2 version won't be
supported anymore.
The User Interface is completely rewritten, using a sort of plug-system, in the
LSC/widgets folder you can find the indidividual widgets (coded by hand) that
the UI.py file will assemble in the final Gui. the glade files are still
present, but unuseful for the program.

The full changelog:
* Completely rewritten interface
* New Categories page (a buttons table)
* The Preferences dialog own the about and the software poperties button
* Solved a lot of bugs (no more critical errors from glib or pango)
* And, obviously, Gtk3

The clean dialog is not present, i can add if you think is useful.
the upgrade dialog is unuseful (we have already got update-manager), and the
refresh button can be placed wherever we want.

Hope you'll like it, regards.
