Hi!

Where do you get those .po files?
I translate LXDE components on http://www.transifex.net/. You can join your
translation team and start translating. It's easy to download/upload .po
files, or translate right on the web page.
I have also worked on http://pootle.lxde.bsnet.se/, but I prefer
http://www.transifex.net/.

 Hi Steve,

as Mr "As the en_GB translation team I have no problem with an
exception."

I'd like to ask / point out a little 'funny' with the language
packs.

Long story, cut short, was trying to help with language packs last
night

and
as the only other language I know more than 2 words of is French
(I know
about 10 words ;-) ) I put the French language pack onto my system
and

popped it into 1st place, it dutifully went into French (So far, so
good). I
then moved English(GB) back to the top of the list, so that French
was

in
2nd place and applied it, but my log in screen remained in French.
It

was
only when I moved the French pack out of the active areas did I
get it

back
into English. My guess is that there is not an en-GB for the front
screen
and it is defaulting to the 'catch all' English, if there is a 2nd
language
pack there then it is correctly using that as the next in order of
preference.

Regards,

Phill.

The login screen is Ubuntu and I'm assured has been translated
100%

into en_GB

I’ve been playing with this and there does seem to be some sort of
problem with this on Lubuntu. Going to try on Ubuntu. Haven’t seen any
bug reports about it though.

No problems in Ubuntu 10.04, so it appears to be a Lubuntu problem :(

It would appear some language setting isn’t getting set during the initial
install (I think)
I uninstalled English then reinstalled it. With English as first choice
and French as second I get know problems.

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] translations

2010-03-15 Thread Julien Lavergne
It's difficult to handle translations, because they need to be done by
in every upstream projects. We don't have a centralized place to do
them. For example, for Aqualung translations, you need to do it in
Aqualung repository.

We need to update the documentation to add the links and some "how-to"
to update those translations.

2010-03-14 Thread Phill Whiteside
Hi,

I know it's cutting it fine, but pedro3005 (a ubunteer and member of
#ubuntu-beginners) has sort of been volunteered to do Portugese
translations.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/pedro3005

He asks what would it need.

(22:43:26) phillw: so, would you consider translating some stuff into
Portugese ?
(22:43:41) pedro3005: phillw, sure, if it's not too big

I've had a quick look round the wiki page for translations, but could not
find a deffiniative answer.

Hi,

If you want to translate a LXDE specific component, you shoud read this wiki
page for information : http://wiki.lxde.org/en/Category:Translations
If it's not, you can go to https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu

Also please note that LXDE translations are not up to date with recent works
done by LXDE translators.
