Yep, you're right.

In may kast two installs (arf, 6 in a week!) some slides appear on the left,
under the text. I want to be sure that this only happens to me (then I'll
search for a lifeform in my motherboard).

Thank you, guys.

PS. Note taken about Audacious.

Rafael:

I installed Lubuntu 11.04 yesterday (a few hours ago really) and there was
nothing strange in the slides i could tell.
What i did miss was in the multimedia slide a little talk about audacious
(not only gnome-mplayer).

Did you ever installed Lubuntu recently and see that installer shows bad the
slides? In my case the slides that appears out of position are chat, e-mail,
get help and lxde-based (total 4).

If anybody has this problem I'll possibly make a bug about this.

Thank you.

Hmm,

you are not alone (not that that informatio helps), it seems something that
happens to some with Alphas for no apparent reason. I'll add
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1547535&page=4 (posts #34 and #35).
Can you install by running the LiveCD and clicking on 'install, instead of
choosing the install from the boot menu? While the devs have a look into it,
that may well get you up and running. If that does not work, I can only
suggest doing the minimal install
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Developers#Minimal
Installation and 64 Bit) which does not use Ubiquity.

Regards,

Phill.

[Lubuntu-desktop] ubiquity crashes

2010-08-10 Thread Duy Hùng Trần
Hello,
I have just found a Compad Evo N600c (256MB RAM and 40GB HDD) to test
Lubuntu :D . I installed Lucid on this notebook, I worked fine, but a little
bit slower than Windows XP :( .
I'm trying to install Alpha 3. Live CD session works ok, but when I start
installing ubiquity crashes at the welcome screen and tells me to report a
bug, when I click to report it says I miss some packages.
Is there any else way to test Maverick Alpha 3 on this Compad notebook :( ?
Thank you!
Regards

Alternate and standard version are build differently. Alternate
use .deb, standard use squash.
The better option seems to add the mini.iso functionalities into the
normal .iso. But I have currently not the time to do it.

[Lubuntu-desktop] ubiquity

2010-03-28 Thread Phill Whiteside
Hi,

I really wish I knew had the knowledge to help on this one :-(

As was pointed out in the last meeting
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/IRC%20Meeting%20February%2020,%202010

for less than 128 MB (or even 192MB) you need the alternate text installer
to have a nice installation experience
I have seen someone report back that they 'broke' the ubiquity 192MB, by
allocating swap. Obviously, for a new user they would not know how to do
this.

Lubuntu really needs the alternate installer, is there anything I could do
to assist? I'm sorry I'm not a programmer but would help in any way

Regards,

Phill.
