Some harps are made with the possibility of playing alterations by puting the finger on the "console" of the harp and reducing the length of the string to play sharp notes. So even on diatonic harps alterations are possible. Look this bray harp player

Hello, I have two harps, a medieval copy (Ardival Kentigern), gut strung that I play without nails. Nails are needed for wire strung harps (Irish and Scottish). The other harp I have have nylon wounded strings (like basses on a guitar) it is a little german folk harp, and it works
