thanks for your input. Any objections against naming the author Dowland? I too
made a
transcription (for two lutes) and wonder what to write above...
I see that Ward _does_ mention the Füllsack and Hildebrandt version. However,
he seems
not to be too fond of the piece

Of course.
Ward suggested Bucton was the courier who worked with Dowland for Sir Henry
Cobham in Paris.
