Hello,
In my opinion this is the best software on the market at an
acceptable price: OT 120 Korg; I tune my baroque lute in 3 minutes with
it... [01.gif]

It works on Mac OSX 10.6.8.
And as an iPhone applet: Cleartune.

I use Strobe Tuner 1.6 from Katsura Shareware. $15. (It's good on a
Mac back to 10.3.9 --which is my Mac/Windows/Fronimo machine.) I more
often use the Cleartune on an ipod touch since it's easier to hold w/
a lute in my hand and does pretty much all the same things. The

Some of you post videos on YouTube of yourselves playing early music

David,
I play at a restaurant once a week. For a while, the owner was being
harassed periodically about copy right. I suggested that the goon doing
the dirty work stop by to look at my music. Ultimately, they, whoever
they were, gave up.
Youtube is in the drivers' seat, which makes thing a
Hello, lutenist friends!
This is a quick note to mention a new CD entitled `The Bach/Weiss
Sonata.'
This is a very personal project of repertoire I've been working on with
my wife (Baroque violinist Genevieve Gilardeau) over the last few

The recording features BWV

I had this problem last February after uploading some Tarrega (on a
Torres guitar copy). In whatever it was that notified me that
publishers thought they wanted to slap some ads on these, there was an
option to challenge it and say that in fact I had the rights or

All the popsongs I upload for my guitarkids are under copyright.
YouTube warns me, but no further action by me is required. They put
adds on it, the copyright holders are supposed to benefit from them.
Fair enough. My own material, I can 'monetise', meaning they put adds

How do you apply it Ed? Do you take it completely off the lute, or
apply with extreme care and a match stick, or similar?
I'd guess that slipping a sheet of wax paper or plastic between
the lute and the string would be as safe as removing the string
entirely.
I'd use a double layer: paper
Check that the super glue does not, by any chance, dissolve
the plastic.
