The best thing for cleaning some records- even alleviating small scratches- is Vick's Vaporub. Doesn't seem to work as well if the recorded music is post 18th century, however... so if it ain't Baroque, don't Vicks it. 5. If your records are chatty natty, they need to be cleaned.

David Playing your lute degrades the strings. Turning on your CD degrades the components. A good conical diamond wears the record less, so long as you change it regularly, and the sound is so much better from LP than from CD. The transfer to digital also degrades the sound Anthony

Make sure all your pieces are fitting together. You need to a) rip music off vinyl, b) save it in a format that you will be able to burn on CDs, c) actually burn it. Point a) if you use your USB turntable, you will need some following processing, as you experienced already? Therefore going
