Just a tiny addition: when you re-write with LibreOffice the same exact text segment, with a few boldface and emphasized and bullet and numbered lists, and copy that to Thunderbird with C-c, C-v, it just works as expected. I also just tried a table, and it's copied just OK in Thunderbird, but
