Hi Félix

Sorry, the image says I used KOMA-Script but that does not display Capítulo;
so I changed to Standard Book Class which does but forgot to change the title.

Hi Félix

Sorry this is an English language forum and I do not have a Spanish LyX

With the Standard Book Class you get Capítulo - see attached.

HI Jean-Pierre

I understand now; the undertilde package is no longer part of TeXLive but the
undertilde character is provided by the wsuipa package as mentioned in Scott
Pakin’s list of symbols: www.ctan.org/tex-archive/info/symbols/comprehensive/

Hi Jean-Pierre
I have TeXLive installed and the undertilde is in the wsuipa package which was

For the Embedded Objects manual there is a yellow note with additional

eso-pic, ms, pict2e

For at least one of the manuals (but I didn't note which) I needed
zhmetrics (presumably for a font used in one of the manuals), and also
graphics-cfg.

Re: improving typography and layout in tutorial.lyx

2016-04-20 Thread John Robert Hudson
Dear mn

Thank you for your feedback but I wonder if you are over-estimating what we
are trying to do with the example. In the Tutorial 1.2.2, we say:

1.2.2 What you will not find
• Detailed explanations of all of LyX's features.
Look in the User's Guide when you need this.
• Detailed explanations of LaTeX.
Unnecessary. If you want to learn some of the neat tricks you can do with
LaTeX in LyX, you can have a look at the Embedded Objects manual.

Many of the issues you raise are covered in the User's Guide and other
manuals.

Note that the Tutorial uses the standard Book document style whereas, in the
User's Guide and other manuals, we use the KOMA-Script Book document style so
that we do not introduce too many new ideas all at once in the Tutorial.

It would be more useful if you provide some features of LyX through
pictorial depiction. I am searching an article on web which could be
helpful for me for writing a new document class and layouts step by

You people are doing really great job.
 Good wishes for all.

Dear Mr Mathur

Glad to hear you are able to make use of LyX - there are some
illustrations in a paper I did for my local computing club which you can
find at

http://bradlug.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/LyX_2_the-ultimate_document_software.pdf

But you are already attempting fairly complex layouts; you may find the
material on the multicolumn package helpful.
