bibliography question

Hi! With the "Article" document class, the bibliography takes the largest label as indentation like such: \begin{thebibliography}{Glover and Laguna, 1997} I just want that: \begin{thebibliography}{} How do I do that without going into the Tex file to fix it and yet get all the nice benefits

hallo LyXers, i use a lot of tables in my thesis and some of them are a little to wide for the papersize. I know, that i can change the fontsize in LyX by marking the region and choose any size i want. But i create this tables outside of LyX and use the texfiles via input. So mybe anyone know
