Rich, This may well be the reason. The physical page size is 'letter' (8.5x11 in) and the logical page size is 6.125x9.5 in. The crop marks may be off in space somewhere. In that case, try \usepackage[paperwidth=6.125truein,paperheight=9.5truein]{geometry}
