after updating from KDE-3.1.4 to KDE-3.3.2 (SuSE-8.2) and recompiling
LyX-1.3.5-qt, (and reconfigure), most math-symbols on the LyX-screen are
replaced by text.
The latex-xft-fonts are installed and worked Ok with LyX-1.3.5-qt before
the update.
Now I looked for the latex-ttf-fonts on ftp://f

True enough, Helge, but MikTeX (Windows) and teTeX 3 (*nix) both provide
support for spaces in filename
but shurely these troublesome paths can have any meta-chars escaped from lyx?

realised this before.
With the tools in c:\GnuWin32\bin it works very well.

Check addresses do not have spaces to start with. Also try placing the
word.doc directly into the lyx/bin directory (or close by)
I got it working when I tried this.

Have tried both but to no avail. In the Lyx command window I get the following

lyx word import via wv cant take filenames with whitespace (bug?).
