Hi all,
I'm almost entirely illiterate in matters latex.
For example, I don't even know how to install beamer for lyx on Suse 10.0.
That said, I would be delighted to reduce this ignorance. I'm looking for
easy instructions on an easy task (I suppose, and hope that it is an easy
task).

I have created a rather large lyx file (all my course notes). In one
section, I can't get it to work. I have reduced the problem to a
minimum. There are 3 characters on my screen, in two lines.
I get SIX errors with those 3 characters.
Answer: it's the \textmf that causes ALL six errors.
