Hi all,
In section A.7.7 of my new book there's a sentence with lots of charcode
character style mixed with normal type. Charcode is just monofont. This was
using LyX 1.5.3.
In order to create a tiny example of this problem, I reproduced the sentence,
using LyX's typewriter font (from the

I just installed Lyx for Windows. I got a message while downloading MikTex that
a thread wasnt completed or something. Now that I open Lyx and write a
document its impossible to convert to neither DVI nor PDF. A message shows up
saying
Document class is not available

Then you have now a broken LaTeX engine in your system.
I suggest that you
- uninstall LyX completely
- uninstall MiKTeX completely
- open an internet
